A unique and quite wonderful take on one of my favorite standards. What a great voice too! :-)

I always wanted to make my version of this song, but I had a lot of projects to do, and this one was postponed many times. But last month, I saw that Fivos Valachis (@fivosvalachis) posted an enjoyable piano version of this piece, and it gives me the last part of my inspiration.

There are two different parts in the song : the classical part, with the original lyrics from Gershwin :

Summertime and the living is easy
Fish are jumping and the cotton is high
Oh your daddy's rich and your mother's good looking
So hush little baby, don't you cry
One of this mornings you will rise up singing
Yes you'll spread your wings and you'll take them to the sky
But 'till that morning, just a little bit can harm you with daddy and mommy standing by

Then I added myself a second part, with slightly different chords, telling a story from Veldaky, linked to the idea of Gershwin's lullay. This story takes place in the same Tablosehfal kingdom where the "Hay Roses on Your Song" story takes place (which is a story about shamanism). Imagine a giant lang covered by infinite tiles, with no nature, just giant stone cubes and cones. At the center of the kingdom, lays the giant palace where the kings live. But the city is uninhabited, the manners of people are ruled by very coercive processes, and they stop ensuring their offspring. After a big banquet with the king's family and friends, Kayagoenh found the corpse of his son laid in the waters of the top room of the palace, killed by craziness and an hurling sound. It reminds him the lullaby he sings to his son, when he was young.

All those cute gargoyles with their shining eyes
They keep on dancing as they will never die
And the waters where I found you in this palace
They keep your sound and prevent anybody to lie
Summertime and the words I sing
Twirl in the room and now you're high

The "gargoyles" mentionned are statues who have the power to live and to love. They are secretely ruling the lives of the Tablosehfal people, which bring them to decline. This story grows in my mind after a strange dream I made when I was 5 years old, at the same night I discovered the joys of sleep paralysis.

Music is images, a synaesthetic fresco and an usiversal language where the thoughts of the universe lies. Rythms are architectures, notes are colours and sharing it is living.

Instruments, all them talk in the language of the heart, from the mouth harp to the octobass, and the organic sound of an orchestra is alive.

Numbers, all them are hidden on the successive layers woven through the complexity of this code, which reveal themselves and allow divine communication.

I'm not from Earth, but I'm enjoying its peaceful landscapes, and I came to share visions from another world.
