Ghosts of the past have no business when there’s new news,
Of his pride, welting with a new bruise.
Gratified, immediately salt wound,
Cauterize, and act when it’s too soon, 
Pluck out an eye for the chance of expansion, Sell out my soul in advance of a paycheck, 
No time for roses, no time for dancing, Keeping up pace with the world is break neck
I do not begrudge him
Too far ahead to let my vision touch him,

I only want to hear her tune one more time,
Masterpiece breaking the walls of my mind,
If you can show me the reason for poetry
Illuminate with potency the world as it is known to me.

My to-do list looks endless and foolish,

Need a lemonade stand, buy some truth for a quarter,

That calm sense of guidance that comes with the quietness,
BRRAP, no time for musing

Confucius is just laughed at by hubris,
We’re ruthless, always harassed with the rudeness
