We're very happy to share with you for the 59th episode of our podcast serie, this amazing musical journey from Dj, live performer and label owner Głós.

The mix is a hybrid set divided into two acts. First part is shaped in ambient textures, soothing and with dreamlike atmospheres. All of a sudden the story changes, unleashing an inner energy with refinement.

Non-Print label head and producer Głós wants to create something outside of the conforming realm of Techno. He has already reinvented his early work through his first album, and his lucid yet straight-to-the-point productions continue to reveal a rarefied character. 

Głós (pronounced ‘Gwos’) has made a point out of not following the sometimes linear Techno patterns with his artistry. He comes from a band-focused Rock-environment and runs his own label, arranged to be a wildly experimental project. In his earlier years, Głós was in several ways a close contributor to the Ressort Imprint label—founded by fellow producer Ekserd—since its start in 2013, already then having left his native Poland to become a Berlin citizen. 

Głós’s successive platform, his very own label Non-Print, released his debut album ‘Fem’ in September 2018—marking the exact five year anniversary date of his first EP, ‘There Is No One Like You’ (Ressort Imprint, 2013). The producer describes it as ‘a collection of re-works as well as new material without any creative limitations’. ‘Fem’ is presented as one continuous mix—with each of the tracks being available in their own individual entity. 

As a producer and performer, Głós’s background, which is a very hands-on analogue way of working—recording for example distorted keyboards and guitars—continues to influence his music. The industrial rawness of these elements are still present in his Techno, only now existing mantled by a softer Drone- and Ambient-type of layer. Głós portrays filmic scenes in his music. You are surely guided by the kick-drum, but the productions are spatial—distant rave signals and voices echo in a fantasy-like landscape. 

His live performances are often a hybrid of his own work and others. The Techno is pure Głós, but in various parts he manipulates selected Ambient pieces, making them his own for his distinctive shows. Again a situation where Głós’s live band-background plays a big part. 

‘Trinity’ is the Berliner's self-proclaimed opus magnus with a playtime of about 5.5 hours that was released on Głós’s own Non-Print. Fresh off the press since then are his latest EPs ‘Swimming In Colours’ and ‘Serenity’ on Affin, showcasing a different approach of Głós opposed to his more up-beat productions made for the dance floor.

In his DJ sets, Fabrizio makes a precise and intimate techno flow who seduces the dancefloor mixing new and old vinyls range from deep, intricate techno, through an acid and groovy darkness with some melodic gems along the way. Fabrizio Lapiana founded his label Attic Music in 2008. He grow up his sound combining deep aesthetics and techno grooves often allowing ambient or industrial elements.He is a monthly resident at Alchemy, one of the most underground and classy party in Italy. Lag is a Serbian-born promoter of the underground culture, a DJ and a respected producer.
It is easy to notice from his sound that he did not take the usual route on his musical journey. He grew up on punk, acquired a classical education in music and then quit it all to find himself enchanted by the possibilities of expressing oneself both through DJing and making electronic music. He chose techno to be the host for his creative discharge, while always incorporating a certain dosage of his previous musical life to his current work. 

Grit, rhythm and attitude are his main tools as he blends them into his music, creating a potent combination which enchants, moves and unifies.
Lag’s DJ performances on the Exit Festival’s main DJ stage, and the legendary Tresor Berlin club speak volumes of his ability to engage his crowd, and offer an intense sonic experience. Through his DJ sets, as well as through workshops and events he organized and promoted under the umbrella of his organization 29524, Lag put efforts into closing the gap between the “good” and the “known”. Since then his promotional activities have reduced, and his focus moved to delivering extremely functional DJ sets, but also on creating and releasing original music, mostly in the techno genre. After several appearances and releases, predominantly on the Serbian label Teskoba, his remix of Grovskopa’s “Atopic” is released on vinyl by Sect Records. He follows it up with his first EP named “Stutter”, a highly acclaimed release which came out on the notoriously uncompromising Singularity Recordings, and his latest output, a 12” release on Mord Records named “Misfit EP”, underlines the quality and uniqueness of his already recognizable sound.
Lag is set to stay on his current path as his mission, his initial vision, is yet to flicker. His ruthless determination is awe inspiring, and is, along with his musical prowess, the main reason for his rising popularity. Lag is definitely someone to keep an eye on, but more importantly - someone to listen to.
