Although the existence of fabric hangs in the balance, the Farringdon club’s legacy will always live on through its celebrated mix series. Not many have been running—let alone remained as relevant—as long as this one, and there can be few better to carry on the baton than Scuba: he was the last artist to play at the club on August 6th 2016, and will donate all proceeds from the mix to the #savefabric fundraising campaign that plans to fight the closure.
 
London born Paul Rose’s career has been intrinsically linked to Hotflush Recordings, the label he set up in 2003. Its first release was also his first, under the Spectr alias with a debut as Scuba coming in 2005. In the subsequent years, Hotflush has played a pivotal role in the evolution of underground dance music, as has Rose himself, not only as an A&R and producer (of no fewer than four LPs and tens of EPs), but also with five years of Sub:stance at Berghain. Those parties famously introduced a bass-heavy outlook to a seminal techno club, and established a singular voice as other less cerebral interpretations of that sound took hold around the world. Coming back full circle to his formative mid-90s days of following Colin Faver and Jeff Mills, Rose’s fabric appearances evolved from bass music Fridays to the house and techno of Saturday nights.
 
“fabric has been a really important venue for me as a clubber and also as a DJ. The mix was put together over the course of a couple of weeks in my studio in London. At this point, I don't think the method is really important to how a DJ mix is constructed: if it sounds good then that's all that matters. There's a variety of old stuff, recent releases and brand new music, and also a mix of established producers all the way through to people that no-one will have heard of because they've never released anything.” - Scuba.
 
Those debut-making artists—Isaac Reuben, Glaskin, Blursome and DXC—will feature on both a VA sampler on Hotflush (October 14th) as well a one-off vinyl 10” including a brand new Scuba track (November 18th), and they knit in perfectly here with music from across a wide spectrum. Taking a no-nonsense approach, this is a visceral and scuffed-up, rugged and to-the-point selection. What’s more, Rose’s ability here to select, sequence and stitch together a whopping 42 tracks over 75 minutes is remarkable. Artists as diverse as Pearson Sound and Patrick Cowley, Donato Dozzy and Midland all get called upon, but nothing ever gets in the way of a dark, seductive atmosphere. It means that in amongst the bumping lo-fi techno and cavernous bass sounds, there is a palpable sense of being lost in the rave. Fog billows out, distant sirens go off and strobes flash. The pressure never releases. fabric 90, then, leaves you delightfully disorientated in the heart of Room 1, and you’ll never want to leave.

The 40th Release on our main label Bubblejam is here, we wanted to finish 2018 on a really strong note, and we certainly have achieved that!

Gary Burrows has unleashed his monstrous new single
 'I am Ready' closing an even stronger third year for bubblejam.

Gary Burrows is an up and coming Techno DJ and Producer from Birmingham UK who is firmly establishing a name for himself within the techno scene.

Gary's' influences from the harder side of Techno and Old School hardcore are clear to hear. Gary grew up with old rave tapes being left around the house by his brother and sister and once Gary listened to these he became addicted to dance music and was hungry to discover more.

Gary burst onto the scene with his explosive, energetic and driving Techno in 2016 with two tracks signed to Spektre's Respekt Recordings. This was immediately followed up with another EP signed to Respekt. Since then Gary has had a number of releases across some huge labels including Funk N Deep, Layer 909, Eclipse, Orange Recordings, and Technologic. 

Gary has received some fantastic support from some big artists such as Carl Cox, Alan Fitzpatrick, Spektre, Pan-Pot, Richie Hawtin, Spartaque, DurtySoxx, Fatima Hajji and many more

After some remixes with Marc Ayats for David Asko, Madben… the young French producer release his 2nd Ep on A-TRACTION.

"Addict" is the cross between rave and EBM with a percussive break beat drop, while "The One Who Knocks" bears his name wonderfully to kill the dancefloor with its hypnotic and explosive break.

Julian Muller (A R T S, Initial Berlin) delivers a perfect version for the warehouse, with ravy sounds from the 90s, while HDN (threesome composed by H, Darzack, NTBR) switches to the dark side with strong rhythms.
