tVC sound system was formed in 1986 in Whitstable, Kent, UK.
tV Cabbage or tVC are now a louche collective of artists, musicians, producers, hedonists. artists, technicians, promoters, writers and DJ's who all work together and are dedicated to house music free parties as a means of pleasure, fulfilment, a base for networking and an exchange of ideas. Amongst other things in their lives.  
Well that's what we try to do.  

Pre-house the music played was an amalgam of reggae, hip-hop, American and UK underground guitar music as well as old punk and psychedelic. This was played under the tVC moniker at house parties, free festivals as well as various halls and student venues around the Canterbury area.

As house music exploded in the late eighties, crews, or DJ's from crews, such as DiY (Nottingham), Tonka (Brighton) and The Lazy House Crew (Bristol) began to appear on the free festival circuit. This amalgam of traveller and 'raver' lifestyle began to produce hybrids like tVC and Aphrodisiac in Kent. Inspired by the free party ethos of the travellers the parties began to take the form of gatherings once the free festival circuit had been ‘crushed’.

tVC Sound System was born in 1986 in Whitstable, Kent. They were named after the 'Gaye Bikers on Acid tune' "TV Cabbage" from the album "Drill Your Own Hole" released in 1986 on Virgin records. Before the house explosion and the adaption of the Do It Yourself ethos Drill Your Own Hole kinda sounded like the thing to do at the time. So we drilled. The band had a lead singer called Mary. Paul, Nick and Carl, the founding members, thought that was mildly amusing, and, needing a name for the band promotion 'enterprise' that they had just set up, choose tVC. 'We just wanna get bands into Whitstable', snarled Carl.

During these early days they promoted thrash, American underground and UK traveller bands and anyone else they could. Often badly. Playing their favourite music between bands (reggae, hip-hop, guitar based US and UK thrash) they were forced to buy some decks. Learning the promotion game didn't come easy and it seemed like it wouldn't last long. In fact it didn't come easy or last long. Within two years the band promotion stopped.

In between this hectic promotion schedule they did a few house parties for friends. Started a reggae/hip-hop night at the local Labour Club (on a Wednesday) and went to a few free festivals with the decks and a few little speakers. They saw Hawkwind (several times) Subhumans/Culture Shock, The Dub Warriors: the scene was alive and extremely active. It was a time of enlightenment; of exposure to the traveller values of vegetarianism, individualism, egalitarianism, anarchism. They went to Stonehenge in '87 and saw the police break up the celebrations.

Back home squatters took over several houses in the area. They were always up for a party. tVC always had the kit to do it and, naturally, were always up for a party too. If a band wanted to play; great! Just put 'em through the desk.

Gina Star is a DJ and producer originally from Dallas, Texas. After moving to LA in 2006 to further her career, she was hailed by the LA Times and E! Entertainment as one of the most talented and sought after DJʼs in the city, and was welcomed into some of LAʼs most exclusive V.I.P. celebrity endorsed nightclubs playing her own special style of big room uplifting house.

Moving across the pond to the UK in 2009 to further her DJ & production career, Gina propelled herself into the limelight working with Toolroom Records and gaining support on her productions, notably Pete Tong spinning her Cirez D & Sunscreem mashup to the masses on his Radio 1 show.

Gina Star released ʻThis Is Hollywoodʼ which entered the Beatport Top 100 at #10, and #1 on the Progressive House chart. David Guetta featured it on his internationally syndicated F*** Me Iʼm Famous radio show. The track features the instantly recognizable vocal talent of Roland Clark preaching ʻWelcome to Hollywood, whatʼs your dreamʼ.

ʻI Want It Nowʼ debuted at WMC ʻ10, and uses the unmistakable hook from the legendary band Queen – I Want It All...& I Want It Now!!! Given the thumbs up from Queenʼs management via EMI, this project developed into a full release for Toolroom Records including a remix from Robbie Rivera. Tiësto featured the record on his International ʻClub Lifeʼ radio show and podcast, Judge Jules named it his ʻTried and Tested Tune of the Weekʼ on his Radio 1 show. 

Gina has mixed several Toolroom Records compilations including the best selling ‘Miami 2010’ ‘Ibiza 2010’ ‘Miami 2011’ and ‘Best of 2011’. She also did an ad campaign for Gio-Goi Clothing, which was circulated throughout Europe.

Her remix of Tiësto and Mark Knight 'Beautiful World' was used by Tiesto in his Dj sets and on his radio show, and her remix of Chris Willis (David Guetta’s favorite singer/songwriter) “Too Much In Love” went to #4 in the Billboard Club chart; both are still getting radio spins around the world. 

In 2012 she launched a self titled monthly Podcast which counts down her current top 10. The latter part of 2012 saw single releases of iWIN on Atlantic/Big Beat, Bliss on CR2 & Action, Tears, Bananular and U Don’t Love Me on new label LOI. She was featured on the front page of Beatport and heavily supported on radio shows around the world including BBC Radio 1, Capital FM, iHeart, Sirius & in club charts such as Music Weeks Coolcuts & DMC’s Buzz Chart. 

Her track Midnight was featured in the Miami Buzz Chart & will be released in early 2013.

'High Society' is a new collaboration between 'Aptness' and the 'T.D.U.K DJ's'.

Drawn together through their plutonic love of electronic dance music, the boys have joined forces to offer something new to the global dance music scene.

Over 50 years of combined DJ'ing experience and 15 years of production knowledge the High Society project is shaped to disperse big room dance tracks, driving, powerful, uplifting, floor fillers.

Aptness first gained recognition for their 1998 track 'The Answer' and 'Dreamers' and have released a number of big room tracks since then to great acolade.

The T.D.U.K DJ's with their Ministry Of Sound residency and numerous big room boot legs are also of a solid pedigree.
