Alison Moyet - Je Crois Entendre Encore

In The Doors album, An American Prayer, Jim Morrison recites poetry with what seems to be an adapted musical arrangement of the "Adagio in G minor" being played in the background for Feast of Friends. Yngwie Malmsteen's Icarus Dream Suite Op. 4 is inspired and based mainly on "Adagio in G minor."

Tomaso Giovanni Albinoni (b. June 8, 1671, Venice, Republic of Venice; d. January 17, 1751, Venice, Republic of Venice) was a Venetian Baroque composer. He is remembered today primarily for his instrumental music, particularly the oboe concertos. Albinoni's work is still regularly recorded and the The "Adagio in G minor" attributed to him (actually a later reconstruction) is one of the most frequently recorded pieces of Baroque music. Known in his day as an opera composer, he wrote some fifty operas, 28 of of which were produced in Venice between 1723 and 1740.

His instrumental music greatly attracted the attention of Johann Sebastian Bach, who wrote at least two fugues on Albinoni's themes and constantly used his basses for harmony exercises for his pupils.

Part of Albinoni's work was lost in World War II with the destruction of the Dresden State Library, thus little is known of his life and music after the mid 1720s.

The Albinoni "Adagio in G minor" is a 1958 composition by Remo Giazotto, allegedly based on fragments from a slow movement of a trio sonata he had been sent by the Dresden State Library.

Piano Concerto No. 23 K. 488, 2nd movement: Andante/Adagio in F-sharp minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1786).

The instrument is a Clavia Nord Piano 3 using a sampled extra soft Bösendorfer 130 upright piano, with effects, and a sampled Willow flute.

Maestro Ennio Morricone composed Chi Mai in 1971 for the Italian movie Maddalena (Chi Mai means Who Ever in Italian). It was also the soundtrack of the beautiful ending of 1981 French film Le Professionnel starring Jean-Paul Belmondo who insisted on reusing this music. Chi Mai was also reused in some other movies and TV series and is part of French pop culture thanks to a memorable dog food TV ad for Royal Canin, where the music is playing while a dog is running in slow motion.

The piano is a Klavins Una Corda 64-key upright with felt.
