Even though he lived in the Netherlands for a while, Japanese producer and sound sculpturer So Oishi first discovered SoHaSo on his return to Tokyo, where he now resides. The Lithospere EP is his impressive debut for the Utrecht-based label. 

https://soundcloud.com/sooishi's music has a unique soothing sensation while its psychedelic undertone resonates on various levels. The four tracks on this EP are simply phenomenal, whether you are into deep ambient soundscapes (Lithosphere, Rays), wonky break beats (BLOSC Figure One) or seeking a decisive Japanese answer to early Autechre-records (Nighthawk). 

While in The Hague, So Oishi studied algorithmic composition and sound synthesis at the Royal Conservatory. "I was doing geeky programming and developed my own software synthesizer and a composition program when I was there", he looks back on his Dutch years. He still uses both elements in his compositions from time to time. And it shows, because So Oishi has carved out his very own unique sound on the Lithospere EP.

Moose has stepped out of the standard club scene to explore a new sound—a bit rawer, a little darker, more attuned to the late hours and wild spaces. Known for his techno roots, he's spent time in the wilderness letting the solitude and natural rhythms influence his style. 

His submission for Offset veers into a deep, hypnotic and psychedelic realm, taking on a 5am-in-the-woods kind of vibe that feels as gritty as it does otherworldly.

This set doesn’t aim to be polished; it’s rough around the edges, grounded, and unrestrained, capturing a rawness that feels both intentional and instinctive.

Q. How would you describe yourself?
A. x-traterrestrial, x-plorative and sassy

Q. How long have you been a part of the NYC music scene?
A. Around six years. It all started when I met Justin Strauss at my first job at Red Bull Studios. I became friends with him and he would add me to the guest list for some of his parties in Brooklyn. After that, I started meeting more cute people in the Brooklyn music scene and took the chance of playing music myself + doing a lot of Bossa happy hours. 

Q. Tell us a little bit about this mix.
A. This is a hypnotic cyber spa with a misty twist.
