King of Beats - DJ Mix - by Plump Djs Freestylers & KraftyKuts

After seeing my Classic Breakbeat Vol.1 mix reach over 16000 plays a few months ago, I knew it was time to pull my finger out and do another one. Thanks to everyone for supporting Vol.1—this new mix is for you.

I went back to the drawing board for this one and decided to approach this mix slightly differently than the first mix. Vol.1 was a nod to the smooth mixing style of Kid Kenobi, who 100% got me into breakbeat back in the day. Vol.2 alternatively is a peak time festival-mashup set, designed to take you on a ride from start to finish. As well as getting to include more classic breaks tracks I missed on Vol.1, I made an effort to slot in a lot of festival anthems from the same era of dance music (roughly 2004-2010).

So here it is, well over three months of work collecting lost music, sampling, listening to old mixes and searching for forgotten gold. I'm stoked how it turned out and I hope you will be too.

So after months of careful preparation and hours of digging I bring to you the final instalment of my Golden Era Hip Hop series Vol 3. This mix I spent longer on and rather than give you interviews with legends of the scene I have delivered an extra 15 minutes of classics. Krafty Kuts, real name Martin Reeves is one of the most influential people in the electronic music scene today with experience as a DJ / Producer for more than two decades. Never one to be tied down to a defined genre Krafty has mixed it with the best and has crafted (pardon the pun) the breaks scene in to what it is today. Many artists have come and gone over the years but Krafty is still here leading the way !

This mix which goes for over 2 and a half hours was recorded LIVE at Klub K4, Ljubljana, Slovenia back in January 2009 and contains the vocal talents of Dynamite MC.
