It has been a while, too long in fact, since we’ve featured a guest mix. This one comes to us courtesy of the lovely and talented, Dassier Chams, of Malaga, Spain. Big thanks to our old friend, Colombo, for the introduction. 

Dassier, a young Spanish producer, has made her mark in the United Kingdom music scene by collaborating with some of the industry's brightest stars. Her passion and dedication have led her to create her very own record label, 333 Frequency. 

Colombo, a true force to be reckoned with, has earned multiple accolades as the best Breakbeat producer in the world. With over two decades of experience under his belt, he has continuously pushed boundaries and proven his unmatched talent. His collaboration with 333 Frequency is a testament to his dedication to the craft.

Dassier Chams and Colombo are two extraordinary producers who have joined forces to curate an unforgettable music experience.

Dassier Chams - Episode 226

This is my set from the Beats 4 Love Festival which took place at Dolní Vítkovice in Ostrava, Czech Republic, in the summer of 2023.

Since I returned to the fray in 2023, I've been using Ableton and a number of controllers to create my sets and am loving the flexibility it gives me to do deeper dives into edits, overdubs, mashups and mixes. It wasn't uncommon during this set to have four or five audio channels running simultaneously. I hope you enjoy the ride!

This set was first performed on January 1st 2024 in San Francisco at the Breakfast of Champions block party on the Space Cowboys main stage.

A RE:CONSTRUCTED set is a *long* way removed from a standard DJ set. It's a live/hybrid set.

Simon takes hundreds of tracks from his huge library, painstakingly deconstructs them (using Ai if needed to separate elements from the original tracks), and then pieces everything back together to create a hugely emotive and immersive musical story.

He uses Ableton Live and multiple controllers to trigger up to 16 individual channels of audio at any one time during the performance, and also performs live keyboard overdubs. The end result is a hugely addictive, compulsive and compelling blend of music that's often new, often familiar but always utterly unique.
