The Stanton Warriors are Dominic Butler and Mark Yardley, Dom more of the DJ and Mark the effects man (when playing live). This highly influential duo have definately made their mark in breakbeat folklore with near on 1.5 million Facebook followers and a huge back catalogue of music to boot. 

This mix is from back in 2002, near on 19 years ago ! I have gone through and mastered this mix (for a change), the original files were not the best but i've done what i could to maximise levels and equalize. Overall it's listenable and great to hear some older tracks too.

One of the pioneers in the early 2000's breaks scene Lee Coombs became a popular artist and DJ after releasing music on the world renowned breaks label Finger Lickin Records. Lee has a special style in music so when the Tech Funk genre started to flair up he fitted right in with that close to 4 on the floor and a hint of breakbeat. Lee is still around today and has been airing streams over the internet during these CO-VID times.

This mix was recorded for Triple J Radio Australia in 2004 and is an example of Lee's musical style.

While i'm on an Essential Mix rollout what better way to add to the Oldbreaksmixes collection then a 2 hour Essential Mix from the godfather of Breaks, Rennie Pilgrem.

Rennie Pilgrem’s contribution to the early Nuskool Breaks scene is outstanding and is often considered responsible for the creation of the Nuskool Breaks genre. Before moving into breaks Rennie produced techno and acid house and was part of the influential rave group Rhythm Section along with Ellis Dee. Rennie is also the boss of Thursday Club Recordings aka TCR a label which he founded in 1993. TCR records was a major force in the Nuskool Breaks scene.

British-born Lee Coombs has been involved in the music industry since 1989, when he got his start at acid house parties in London and Cambridge. He went on to run several of his own labels including the legendary Thrust Recordings and collaborate with some of the most respected artists and producers in the world, combining breaks, house, electro, techno, and acid to create groundbreaking mixes in his own signature style. Coombs is a talented and innovative fan-favorite around the world, whether he’s releasing music through his own Thrust label or as part of the Lot49 team, or mesmerizing massive audiences filling dance floors from Australia to Burning Man. 2014 has been a busy year for Coombs! The massive single ‘Lilly in the Sky’ remained up the top of the Beatport charts for many months and has gone on to be one of the biggest selling Breaks tracks of 2014. Lee Coombs - Episode 066

This set was originally put together for RaveArt's 'Retro Festival' in Southern Spain which primarily focuses on OLD skool breakbeat sounds. On the night, my set was *badly* hampered by major monitoring issues in the booth, so I spent the following day re-creating the mix as I'd intended it to sound.

The Stanton Warriors have discography about as long as my arm ! Consisting of Dominic Butler and Mark Yardley, the duo have performed internationally with their infamous Stanton Sessions parties in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. Their name was taken from a manhole cover, made by Stanton Ironworks, which seemed fitting with their style of underground, cutting edge music.

Still touring globally today the duo have cemented themselves in EDM history and known worldwide with over 1 million Facebook fans, their own label Punks Music and a continued devotion to the Breaks and Bass scene.

This mix was aired on Triple J radio Australia back in 2006.

The Glastonbury Festival is a five-day festival of contemporary performing arts that takes place near Pilton, Somerset, UK. In addition to contemporary music, the festival hosts dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, and many other arts. Leading pop and rock artists have headlined, alongside thousands of others appearing on smaller stages and performance areas.

This mix was part of Annie Nightingale's Glastonbury Breakbeat Special back in June 2004.
