Berlin-based musician HOVR conjures up unique house grooves on a superb EP for Kindisch that includes a retouch from TÂCHES. 

HOVR is an innovative artist who mixes up the crazy with the cosy. His productions and DJ sets spread real joy and have come on labels like Poesie Musik, Dantze and Lauter Unfug, with appearances all over the world from Australia to Africa to Kater Blau and Fusion Festival. Never one to follow the norm, he always comes through with his own musical personality.

He opens up this EP with 'Gravitate,' a majestic and uplifting track that pairs a dirty bassline with lush and tender chords. Dreamy spoken words muse on two entities coming together as one and delicate keys heighten the sense of romance. It's a bittersweet track that works at home, in the club, or anywhere else. The excellent house grooves of 'Afterlove' then shuffle and tumble, build and fall apart. A forlorn vocoder vocal layers in the melancholy next to heartfelt chords and longing synths. It is another innovative track packed with meaning. 

British artist TÂCHES is a spiritual character very much in touch with mother nature. He runs the Glitter Cowboy label and makes music for labels like Anjunadeep and Cosmic Awakenings with a clear sense of nostalgia. His retouch of 'Afterlove' is beautifully organic and delicate. It has languid bass and jazzy pads, rich harmonies and a sense of dynamism that keeps you locked in for the most heartwarming ride. 

Gravitate is an EP of freely expressive and captivating house rhythms.

Didacte gently guides us into 2021 with his second piano-led single. Anatta is another track that started life as an improvised piano piece but with so much intent and direction it demanded a full release. The reflective nature of it really resonated with us from the moment we first heard it. From then it grew into this complex little story of ambient harmonies and textures but with the nuances and drum work of a deep house record.

Here and there people speak about similiarities between certain electronic and classical music - the deeper listening experience, that envokes certain emotions through purely melodic progressions, that are bathed in crescending storytelling. The Neoclassical movement further intertwines the symbiosis of these fairly different genres and might underline the comparison between the two. After the rise of world-renowned artists like Nils Frahm, Olafur Arnalds and others, the artistic pool has started to grow within this direction.

With an ear for hypnotic repetitions and mysterious tension, Joram Feitsma further developes the spheres of neoclassical music. His dexterity and courage to push for improvised sections, that are created through his hands and onto the piano, introduce you to indescribable atmospheres. Through a strong focus on the back-and-forth play between silence and loudness, Joram captures unfiltered and vast emotions from vulnerable to ecstatic, while mostly relying on melancholic ideas that feel deep and connecting. This special set today is a first taste of Joram's ability to create a wide space, to invite you into a ride of emotional weight, while exploring various places and feelings, going up and down and hopefully taking your hand into a fascinating genre, created by just one instrument and two human hands.
