Schleiermacherstrasse is part of Stiff Little Spinners Vol. 6 (Audiolith).

Stiff Little Spinners enters it’s 6th volume with a 5 track package spanning the widest sonic spectrum imaginable. Its tracks, in typical Spinners fashion, range from r&b influenced house grooves to shimmering, broken-beat, new-age garage swing. Gimmix & Zorro prove their penchant for urban slow jams with a dance floor flavour. Their opener Oveile builds in a slow, sleazy fashion, eventually trading its more unpredictable drum arrangement for a sturdy 4/4 rhythm. The melody surges harmoniously, navigating the walls of its club-ready time signature, a phenomenal introduction to a mind-blowing collection of tracks.   Rampue slows things down on the A2 with Schleiermacherstrasse; a tripped-out, hazy roller with enough chime to hypnotise an entire stadium. This is not to say Volume 6 contains big room tracks, but rather the music’s power commands attention. This is certainly true for Kalipo’s Mäusemarsch, which whirls, in mesmerizing fashion achieving a climax fit for the party at its peak.   Krink’s Close Distance is perhaps the darkest sounding track offered by the Spinners - it seriousness and condensed energy is bound to leave audiences sweating, until its ferocious bassline gives way to soaring synths and jarred drums.   Joney changes the formula altogether - his sophisticated K-Hole Surfers offers a chugging, dubbed out roller which owes as much to techno as it does to dubstep. It is perhaps unsurprising from the track’s title that one feels like they are riding a rather erratic wave, delving in and out of our universe.   Already on their 6th volume, and churning out high-quality, club-ready tracks, this collective is set for big things.

"Normally I know that high expectations kill the vibe, so I always try to walk my way open minded and don’t expect anything special from the future, but this time I couldn’t help it. When the Robot told me that she wanted me to play the sunrise set and that we will be connected with the Mayan Warrior soundsystem, I could feel it already in Berlin a full three weeks before… Then when I finally took the bus over to Robot Heart it was even better than in my craziest expectations. This gig was by far the most emotional gig I have ever played. All I can say is thank you, I am even more happy now to be born on this weird planet which can be really beautiful sometimes, when you give it  chance to be free. Thank you you for dancing with me and giving me so much Love. So here is my try to give something back.

The human body is the most highly engineered object in existence, a machine of uncountable parts and unfathomable function. Its workings have served as inspiration for all of humanity's greatest inventions. This work is an homage to the two most amazing mechanisms in that machine: the human eye and hand. The head is a 16 foot camera obscura demonstrating the ray optics principals underlying the spherical lensed eye humans posses and the hands are actuated mimicking the tendons and bones of the body. Together they represent what separates life from the rest of the universe, the ability to observe the world around us and manifest change in that world.

The enchanting and notorious Satori unveils Imani’s Dress, the first snippet of his forthcoming album due for release this Spring on the illustrious Crosstown Rebels, with Matthew Dear and Ewan Pearson providing hefty remixes.

Satori is no ordinary producer and live artist. Born to a Serbian father and South African mother, the man behind the instrument is a meditative music-lover on a deeply spiritual journey. Creating melodies on the piano, kora, kalimba, and guitar, his live shows are mind-altering.

Imani's Dress was the spark for the creation of Satori’s debut album after Damian Lazarus heard it and requested to hear more from the visionary artist. Hungry and eager, Satori locked himself in a secluded studio and finished the album, and soon after it was signed to it’s spiritual home, Crosstown Rebels.

DJ and production heavyweight Matthew Dear’s remix is a skillful demon that illustrates why he is a pivotal artist in the electronic music arena. Ewan Pearson’s remix is an ode to the guitar. Creating music for over two decades, here his warm riffs are infused with soothing synths and a meticulous groove.

Premiere | Madloch & Subnode - Abyssal [Crossfade Sounds]

A Proton Music favourite with their unique and highly emotive music, LADS return with another gold standard EP as "Stoyote" takes centre stage.

A German and South African collaborative partnership has seen LADS constantly at the vanguard of modern underground dance music. Featuring the combined talents of Luc Angenehm and Gary Pilz, their work has seen the duo light up clubs in Berlin, Johannesburg and Pretoria with their unique live shows that have transformed their studio productions for club-goers across Europe and Africa. Moreover, production work has seen the duo hit the headlines for a host of blue-chip labels that include Rebellion der Traumer, Nie Wieder Schlafen, Mango Alley and Guy J's Lost and Found, remixing Eli Nissan's "Arpu" in late 2019.

A Particles debut in September 2017 saw LADS working their remix magic on Andre Sobota's "Concluded", before graduating to Proton Music the same month with a stunning original three-track debut in "Miss Jean". The duo's techno flair and soulful mastery saw the twin track "Hagel" released in May 2018 as a quartet of remix from both EPs saw the combined talents of James Monro, Imran Khan and Huminal reworking the original material. No stranger to remixes themselves, LADS have reimagined Lanvary, Imran Khan and James Warren's "Opiate".

Returning for a third original EP on the label, the title track is a jewel-encrusted affair that glistens with a free-flowing and emotive central piano sequence. Intelligent use of counterpoint phrases sees stratified layers of sound permeate across the near 8-minute offering as an LFO synth waxes and wanes in the second half against grooved synths and syncopated bassline. Encased within a deep kick and head-shaking hi-hat cadence, the result is a classy piece.

Joining forces with German artist, Traumhouse, himself a regular on Magician On Duty, Sag and Tre and One Of A Kind, "Avem" extends the rich melodious layers with flowing vibrato string passages and reverb-drenched piano phrases tied together in musical virtuosity. Housed within a rolling groove and laid-back percussion top-line, bassline depth anchors the various elements in an immaculate 4/4 structure.

Concluding the EP, "Angatara" offers sparkling synth lines that hypnotise with their arpeggiated structure and endless delays. Working through complex phrases, a heavy bassline stab ping-pongs across proceedings before a muted pluck stakes over the phrasing pattern. A female vocal cut makes an intermittent entrance throughout adding depth and intrigue, while heavy beat and stripped back shell provides the perfect rhythmic accompaniment.

Three new tracks find LADS standing tall with their "Stoyote" EP.
