When I was twelve, in 1984, I heard rap/hip-hop for the first time: "Eight Million Stories" by Kurtis Blow. For me this was the start of a very exciting journey of discovery into breakdance, human beatbox, graffiti and of course hip-hop with scratching and mixing. 

In 2003 I started working on an idea that I had been toying with for a while - making a mix with records that have had a big influence on my love for breakdance and electric boogie music: hip-hop, electro and electro-hop from the 1980s. All this supplemented with fragments from the early 80s TV series "Battlestar Galactica".

This mix is made with records that I had at the time. No classics like "Reckless", "Girls", "Play that Beat", "Twilight", "MC Shy D" etc. Although they belong there, they weren't easy to find back then. To make this mix a good story and to fill the gaps appropriately, I added English/German and American electro and breaks from the 90s.
