This EP is the first stepping-stone as a music producer for NovaN.
The first track called ‘Mountains’ is based on a painting that tells a story of a shift in his life and a start of a new psychedelic journey. All the tracks are coming from this same starting point, revealing a trip of geometric forms and trancing owls through distant lands.
The compositions are based mainly on performing with a live act setting using multiple analog synths and drum machines, coming from a spontaneous approach of the creator’s jazz background as a pianist and improviser.

Darkwood is the darkpsy/forest/experimental psy project birthed by Aidan. Growing up with parents having roots in the psy scene, I have always enjoyed psychedelic music from a young age. I really enjoy computers and electronics, as well as tinkering with different software and ideas. The merging of my creative side and my technical analytical side, as well as my absolute love for all things psychedelic led me to the idea of producing and mixing music.

This project is my journey into the exploration of light and dark psychedelia. Between organic and machine. My goal is to share a piece of myself as well as a part of the unknown in my music. Making the unknown known. Sequencing chaos into symphony...

Leave all rules at the door, this project is designed and curated to be one of borderless exploration. Boundaries define limitations, letting go of this is paramount to the enjoyment of my sound! <3

Sou Nicolas Palhares, multi-artista que transita entre as linguagens da música eletrônica, arte circense e intervenções urbanas. 
Como DJ de psy trance, atuo sob o nome artístico Cosmic Howl, trazendo uma sonoridade que cria atmosferas, mesclando elementos cósmicos, xamânicos e orientais em sets imersivos e pulsantes. Além da música, me dedico às artes circenses como malabarista e pirofagista, explorando o corpo e o fogo como instrumentos expressivos.

Atuo como artista solo e também integro o coletivo Quinto Distrito, um grupo de intervenção artística que une arte de rua, experimentações visuais e performances.

Com uma trajetória construída na arte desde os oito anos de idade, desde vivências alternativas a festas particulares, boates, festivais e PVTs, venho fortalecendo uma linguagem própria que busca a conexão com o público por meio da minha identidade fluida e sensibilidade, trago um mix poderoso de elementos e vocais de diversos estilos sonoros que transitam pelas vertentes do psytrance.
