Emerging talent, @manami-b delivers a punchy summer club mix for number 16 in the Junction 2 series.

Bursting on the scene just a few years ago, Tokyo-born Manami has been making serious waves across the UK with standout sets at Motion Bristol,  XOYO and The Warehouse Project. Her first single ‘Plastic Italo’, released in late 2020, was selected by Jaguar as her Dancefloor Moment on BBC Introducing and she has followed up with top releases on Alfresco Disco and Soothsayer. With Bicep, HAAi, and Joy Orbison making up just a few of Manami’s ever growing roster of support artists, she is definitely one to catch at the Junction 2 Inner-City showcase at Tobacco Dock this August bank holiday weekend.

Pinz & Pelz - triple j Mix Up 2022

CHRMS is undoubtably one of the raising stars of the Indian electronic music landscape. Starting producing at the age of 12 years old, he has now grown into an acclaimed producer releasing lush and emotive sounds varying from dense and dreamy to dance floor music.  
His DJ sets are no less as the mix he has just done for the crew is the proof: a kaleidoscopic blend of dance floor - ready music

In his own words : 
"The intro to the mix is a dazzling remix of Little Snake's "TO FIND LOVE IS 2 SEEK THE END" by Ivy Lab. It transforms into bubble-wrapped metallic grooves and blends by sounds from the late SOPHIE, friends Zora Jones & Sinjin Hawke and Denham Audio, also An Avrin (Scuffed Recs), and Oli XL who I found recently & have had on loop since ++ more. Half an hour into the mix come Cassius Select, Section Boyz, some of my favourite producers Simo Cell, Skee Mask and Jerry Folk, UK's infamous new grime-scene wave maker Slowthai, Bristol born MC EMZ + more. An hour in come Two Shell, Nikki Nair, and some more hard-hitting club tool-makers in the breaks / jungle space including my mate Yung Raj - one of the sickest producers coming out of India. Nardo Wick's "Who Wanna Smoke With Me" makes its way with my love for fat 808s, followed by some electro heat from the likes of YTP, D'jital, Sansibar & more. The mix has it's peak drum frenzy moment with Sully, 160BPM booty busters from Von Riu, Kode 9 and more. In the end come half-time bass rollers from DJ Haram and Cairo based producer Zuli. "

Pinz & Pelz is a fresh Sydney / Berlin collab project between Andy Lowe & Phillipp Peltz. We're beyond stoked to be launching their debut mix on Club Froth. 

Andy is an old friend of ours who we met DJing when we were based in Sydney. We had many loose nights together behind the decks when the Cross was alive and pumping .. RIP .. When we were giving the FROTHLYF Club nights a crack Andy was the first to support us on our home turf giving us free reign over a new venue he was managing. 

The dudes an absolute legend, and his love & knowledge for music is unrivalled. One that is truly committed to the cause. He's even known to volunteer his spare time teaching kids music & DJ skills in the inner west.

A beautiful heart, that bleeds black for the tekkaz.

Deepa is a dance floor favourite for her ability to connect genres with a signature warmth and flirtiness, exchanging energies with audiences through her sets that will see them leave a little sexier than when they entered. 

A love of community and culture has forever moulded Deepa’s personal ethos, with all of her music projects honing that even further. Through the airwaves via FBi Radio’s Thursday Sunset slot, on the ground running her own party Bypass, or across the nation as a founding member of Aus South Asian creative collective Kerfew, Deepa proudly champions the sound of Eoracore, broadcasting the interconnectedness that makes the city unique and bringing dancers along for the ride. As a DJ her history as part of duo Honey Point, an outfit championing cozy neo-soul and jazzy house, reflects into her club focussed selections, echoing a warmth and human touch that amplifies the intimacy of the dancefloor.

Deepa’s taste for all things naturalistic and clubby, finds her unifying genres and reshaping crowd expectations with a joyous charm. Playing with dichotomies of density and intensity, her craft looks outside of pure club and techno creating a hot’n’heavy dancefloor pastiche you can get lost in. Locked in grooves, chugging percussion and invigorating baselines are dealt with ease when she’s behind the decks, and after playing in her hometown of Eora Sydney for over seven years now she’s become a mainstay on dancefloors and as a part of the wider club community. 

Her ability to align with the energy of an audience and reflect their rhythmic needs has taken Deepa to the stages of Pitch Music & Arts Festival, Strawberry Fields Festival, Subsonic Festival and Boiler Room, as well as landing her a residency leading the legendary dancefloor of Club 77. This has also caught the attention of international acts such as Ahadadream, Jamz Supernova, Four Tet, John Talabot, Hagan, and Jayda G to name a few, pulling Deepa as support for their time in so called Aus.

Community is at the forefront of Deepa’s DJ practice, and with this branching into the European party scene she hopes to connect even further and sexify even more dancefloors.
