these are short songs ,poems more than musical songs really,that are meant to emphasize the lyrics that address what I think are critical issues for all of us : our relationship to each other/the planet/ourselves.. so please have a listen and let me know your thoughts. nothing fancy/cell phone recordings/take care be safe

I spend a lot of time actually listening to tracks I like and repost so if my listens aren’t showing in your insights it must be due to some kind of an unwelcome glitch.  Friends have made me aware of the such cases and I have asked SC to correct the situation. 

Most importantly, I enjoy interacting with seriously minded musicianns.  Soundcloud is a wonderful platform for meeting great and interesting musicians.  I  play piano, synth, guitar, bass, bodhran and I sing from time to time.  I studied jazz piano and composing  Contemporary Classical Music and I write for many genres. 

Unfortunately I now feel it necessary to state that I do not use AI for composing music and I object to Ai training of music.  Sampling without written permission from me of any of the material posted by this account is strictly prohibited.

Hope you find something you like here. I sing and play some guitar, piano, bass and drums (do not record my own drums due to lack of fitting recording environment-unfortunately). You'll find some collaborations with other SC artists too. I have a job in a totally different field (cardiology). I am not into AI generated music.
Let's keep this place peaceful, respectful and honest (like any place should be kept)!

Hello, welcome to my page.

I've been making music since 1972. At the time, with Pedro Castro, we created the alternative rock band Petrus Castrus. 

The music I'm placing here is mostly from the home recordings of my ongoing projects and ideas. I created a few playlists (Inéditos) according to language:

We are both amateur musicians, i.e. music lovers. As for me, I'm just an electrical engineer with a master in AI that really loves creating music and use it to share ideas. That is why all tracks include lyrics or texts.

By the way I'm not interested in third-party offers to boost the number of plays. I like it as it is, and I've always declined such offers. Thanks anyway. 

I don't repost much, just some tracks that I find outstanding and with very few plays, so I can help them to get better known. I believe that repost parsimony also makes life easier for those who follow me.

*** UPDATE May 2025. Good news. The SC contractual terms have now been corrected, and our music will no longer be used for AI training. NOTE April 2025: It just came to my attention that, unless we do a separate contract, all our uploaded music in SC can be freely used for AI training. This is written down in the legal section, under the licensing paragraphs. What can (should) we do to change that? *** 

*** Note Dec 2024: Alas, AI generated content that is not disclosed as such is now being posted at an alarming rate, sometimes multiple tracks in a single day from fake artists that even write down fake introductions, saying how much they love music that comes from the heart. Please avoid reposting these deceptions, it only adds to the confusion.  And it encourages the algorithms to give them preference. ***

*** NOTE June 2024: Generative AI is becoming amazingly powerful. Nothing against it. Just to avoid the confusion and embarrassment of finding ourselves praising and encouraging mindless algorithms, I believe it would be nice for us to always disclose its usage in our tracks. I don’t create my songs with AI.
For me, every track has to grow through its own process, and that simply takes time. That’s where my soul flows into the music.

That doesn’t mean my songs are better or more sophisticated – I’d rather you form your own opinion.
As for vocals, I have to rely on loops, since illness keeps me from singing myself. Often, I discover a vocal line first and build the song around it. This means I sometimes have to compromise on the lyrics, so they don’t always mirror my personal outlook, mode of expression or poetry. Still, it’s important to me to share this truth.

I come from a musical family and was introduced to different instruments at an early age. The one that stuck with me were the drums. Various bands, gigs in small clubs. Even though, for lack of time, I didn’t actively make music for many years, music has always been one of the few constants in a turbulent life.

For the past few years, I’ve been seriously ill and slowly but surely on the home stretch. Since I can no longer play drums (I’m connected to a ventilator 24/7)
i started working with a DAW in 2024. It has become an important part of my life, my way of still creating something when my hands no longer can.

Here on SC there are so incredibly many amazing artists and people from all parts of the world … for me, it’s my universe. And the certainty that something is always possible, no matter how bad things get.

I love music, I especially love to sing, I only perform and I only do covers.
I played guitar for over 10 years when I was young. I gave it up over 30 years ago...

I admire the talents of the artists on SC. You are incredible!
