✘ So tell me what was your first track you fell in love with during your childhood?

✘ maybe could you tell us how did you get into the music cooking pot ?

I started taking piano lessons when I was 8, for a couple of years. Then I just fell deep into music, I was a crazy digger, always searching, listening, discovering. At 16, I started DJing, mostly into that French touch vibe, think Ed Banger mixed with some minimal stuff. I DJed for many years, and in 2016, I formed my first electronic group with two musician friends. We played at a few festivals, and that's when I really started feeling the need to create. So during Covid, I finally took the leap into producing music myself.

Cem Gemalmaz doesn’t hand you a clean, polished dream with Chimes of the Fall — he hands you the kind of dream you wake up from and wonder if it ever really ended.
It kicks off with Soundwaves (ft. Omeria), a crooked love letter to late nights and long thoughts. A deep, pulling groove at its heart, rusty percussion rattling like a loose screw, synths bending like heatwaves off a broken road, and a voice — soft but certain — threading you through the wreckage.
Then comes Chimes of the Fall, the namesake. A slow, brooding walk through a season that forgot to end. Folk-touched instruments, spacey pads, glitches where the cracks show, and vocals so soft they sound like they’re slipping through your fingers. It’s moody, noir-drenched, hypnotic — the kind of track that doesn’t ask for your attention, it steals it.
And when you think you’re out, Longing pulls you back under. Raw guitar licks, chopped vocals gasping for air, synths warping like a bad memory you can’t shake. A groove that keeps pounding, like a heart that refuses to give up even when the night does.
For Cem, music isn’t just sound — it’s the world he sees better than the one we all walk around in. Colorblind in real life, but when he makes music, the colors explode. Shapes, textures, stories, meanings — it’s all there, more real than reality. In that moment, he’s a director, a sculptor, a storyteller. Chimes of the Fall is him telling it straight: no pretty lies, no cheap drama. Just a man making peace with his shadows — and finding a strange, twisted kind of beauty there. Just the kind of beauty we appreciate at Moodfamily.

Now we're reunited, & I’m back here and now!

The last four weeks have been like a rollercoaster ride….what im saying .,.. the last three years at least!!!. 

First, Nixe called to play the closing, to spent so much time before the show, putting together a completely new live set , brings me back to my old rhythm what I lost 3 years ago after corona. 13 songs and a bunch of new material later, I was finally ready to finish the Liveset a few days ago. 

To keep it short, first problem what I had I needed a new laptop after all….., as the old one is finally entering its well-deserved retirement after 13 years and hundreds of shows!

All at last minute…. its so typical for myself ^^

While traveling to the festival, I had to set up my computer again and finally finished five hours before the show. 

When I stepped into the stage and saw those thousands of faces and felt the energy, my excitement and adrenaline were almost unstoppable. I had what were probably (sorry, Seebühne, for running out of time) the two most intense hours of my musical career. All the joy in your faces, wow!


To give you back some of the good feelings for all those who continued to believe in me over the past two years, or those I upset, it was important to me to explain to you here now. I wasn't doing well at all. I was severely depressed, addicted to drugs, myself was in deep grief without consciousness, I lost the most important person in my life, I miss you every day!!

In this time I traveled to the darkest places of my soul and lived there for a long time, my valley was gray and cold, I have seen and felt things that no one wants to see and feel, the drug is so insidious and temptingly dangerous in combination with a broken soul ! be careful with the K, and all of these points lead to me being on the verge of giving up, with myself and of course musically!

But my little monkey & my big love saved my life and my music. They gave me a new perspective on my life!!
Knowing how to make you happy while Mogli peacefully drifts off to sleep in his dream at the camping space, and we experience two unforgettable hours,
and him being indirectly there and responsible for it, makes me so incredibly happy and proud. 

Thank you, and I also thank my wonderful wife Elisa, without whom none of this would have been possible. I love you.

And last but not least, I have to thank probably the most important people in my environment, my closest friends, and especially my musical soul mate, Ninze, thank you for letting me go first with this booking, I really appreciate that! When our paths crossed, no one could have guessed what would happen next, it wasn't us who found each other, but the music who found us, I'm looking forward to our musical future with you <3 love you

Imagine we could combine all the emotions we had in those two hours
and do even more good with it!

Look out for each other and love each other.

Only in this way can we be stronger than what weakens us!

About Pops Staples
Roebuck "Pops" Staples was an American gospel and R&B musician. A "pivotal figure in gospel in the 1960s and 1970s, he was an accomplished songwriter, guitarist and singer. He was the patriarch and member of singing group The Staple Singers, which included his son Pervis and daughters Mavis, Yvonne, and Cleotha. Pops was born near Winona, Mississippi, the youngest of 14 children. He grew up on a cotton plantation near Drew, Mississippi. From his earliest years he heard, and began to play with, local blues guitarists such as Charlie Patton Robert Johnson, and Son House.  He dropped out of school after the eighth grade, then sang with a gospel group before marrying and moving to Chicago in 1935.  In 1948, Robs and his wife Oceola Staples formed The Staple Singers to sing as a gospel group in local churches, with their children. The Staple Singers first recorded in the early 1950s for United and then the larger Vee-Jay Records, with songs including 1955's "This May Be the Last Time" .  In the 1960s the Staple Singers moved to Riverside Records, Epic Records, and later Stax Records and began recording protest, inspirational and contemporary music, reflecting the civil rights and anti-war movements of the time.
A further move in the late 60s, the family extending their range still further with aspirational soul material such as Respect Yourself, which won them a gold disc; the hypnotic chant I'll Take You There; and the million-selling If You're Ready (Come Go With Me). Staples also recorded an instrumental blues album, Jammed Together, with fellow guitarists Albert King and Steve Cropper. There were those who regarded these progressive accommodations to the secular music market as betrayals of the traditions the family were supposed to represent. To such accusations Staples succinctly replied, "Ain't nobody want to go to heaven more than me, but we got to live down here too."
The Staples Singers worked less after Mavis left to pursue a solo career, but in the 90s "Pops" Staples, as he now billed himself, enjoyed a spell of international success away from the family setting, appearing at blues festivals - though steadfastly refusing to sing the blues - and recording the well-received albums Peace to the Neighborhood and Father Father in collaboration with admirers such as Ry Cooder and Bonnie Raitt.
