Australian Rapoeira wizard XANGA is back on Multi Culti with a 3-tracker, backed by a sparkly remix from Ecuador’s Nicola Cruz.

Multi Culti throws down a kitschy pop manifesto with Get Outta My Dreams, a Tarzan-sampling call to the wild that implores us to leave the city and align with nature. Xanga gives overt voice to what we’re all feeling, stuck in urban existence, longing to dance among jungle spirits. 

This is the Way it Starts continues with mad-cap percussion, taking things far off the rails of conventional dance music with live-pulsing rhythms and fast paced arrangement. La Luz rounds off the EP with a hypnotic, shaker-driven groove and trippy, delay-soaked tuned percussion layers. Xanga moving with confident steps towards a distinctly individual sound. 

Nicola Cruz, hot off his latest releases on Multi Culti and ZZK, chimes in with his remix of Get Outta My Dreams, reinforcing the beats, adding his chugging South American tribalism while preserving the feel of the original.

There's a place up on the hills where we found a piece of papyrus laying under a chocolith: it describes how a particular life form used to protect the spirosegarden (east soda side) and its surroundings against the passing of time. Mermaids are stone and water, combined in an elegant balance and they are capable of projecting illusions into other lifeforms's minds. Using pollen from a specific lotus (chrónolotus) they can extract grains of time and stop it at their own will, creating a copy/spectral echo of reality that gets stored inside the mermaids' hands.
The papyrus describes how the flowing of time eventually took its linear course and eroded all the mermaids from Soda Island, confining them to a life in the spectral echo of their own reality. According to the document, it is possible to visit the spectral soda realm but we're still looking for the gates.

Suzanne Bonifacio, A.K.A. "Space Cubs", is singer/songwriter/producer from Buffalo, New York. Early on she, she pulled much influence from gospel and ambient music. During high school she started getting heavily into experimental and electronic music, which sparked a desire to start exploring that within her own musical journey. This continued throughout college, along with an all female electronic trio, "Chromakid", which consisted of Bonifacio, Tara Rook, and Kat Casale. She then came to form "Space Cubs" as an attempt to spend time exploring the nature of being alone with music. Her first EP, "Come Forth, Die Down", was released in 2013 and describes the ebb and flow of being raised in a religious atmosphere. Her first full length album, which was released in 2015, titled "The Fire And Things Forgotten", continues on this spiritual journey with a sort of triumph over the struggles within. Chris Daly of "Passion Of The Weiss" describes it as "Mood music for smoked out dungeons in the crackiest parts of your city." "Bonifacio's strong suit lays in her expressiveness, elegantly combining the spiritual and the romantic with melodies that seem to demonstrate that the journey of self knowledge is more than a matter of self. She isn't afraid of tapping into unnavigable territory, but similarly to earthy electronic artists such as Bjork and Boards of Canada, her music contains subtle glimpses of tranquility beneath the pretense of complete psychic distortion" (Jeannette Chin, Buffablog).
