So many questions. Never mind. Answers soon. Nothing is insoluble. Nothing is hopeless. Not while there's life. In the cemetery, all the white crosses stood in rows, neat chalk marks on a giant scoreboard. Paid last respects quietly, without fuss. Edward Morgan Blake. Born in 1924. Forty-five years a comedian. He saw the cracks in society, saw the little men in masks trying to hold it together...he saw the true face of the twentieth century and chose to become a reflection of it, a parody of it. No one else saw the joke. That's why he was lonely. Heard joke once: Man goes into doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Doctor says "Treatmen is simple. Great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up." Man bursts into tears. Says "But, Doctor...I am Pagliacci." Good joke. Everybody laugh. Roll on snare drum. Curtains."

Depeche Mode has always been one of my favorite Electronic Music bands of the 1980s. This song is definitely an “upper” for me along with “Safety Dance” by fellow Montrealers Men Without Hats. Get on your dancing shoes and enjoy this blast from the past.

She said:  this song started after i received a message from Nick (Spade)...he was speaking of/sharing with me some things and feelings he was going through...and, those things, i could most certainly relate to...i haven't played much piano lately...but, after our conversation, felt compelled to go to the keys...to allow the emotions/feelings i was feeling at that time to come out..through music :)  

music, to me, is freeing (emotionally)...it allows me to say/speak through melodies...the title of this piece is "Free"... for a few different reasons.....no metronomes/played free...

i have to thank Gary for bringing this piano piece to a whole different level for me...with the added ambience, choir and beautiful pads/synths gliding so smoothly underneath...he always loves the piano melodies that come out of me...and i appreciate that so very much...

and to Nick...from one heart to another...i do hope you enjoy this piece...

He Said: Just a wonderfully spontaneous and emotional piece that I think really connects empathically and deeply . Knowing into what Jaime says about her inspiration even brings a deeper sense to the moments of music here that she plays. Also when she plays you know it is Jaime J Ross.

Firstly on easy listening 6/4 bars, I cut some notes out of the main theme so as to give it dynamism, and finally obtained a prime amalgam of 17 quarter notes. I hid any recognizable thing in the accompaniment, and for the organic lines (voice and guitars) I tried the strong rhythm would not fix too much the melodies, first paying a lot of attention, and finally ... just letting me go.
