OneAmbient4 - The Surface Of The Water (Naviarhaiku 352)

I'm a composer, working from a 3' x 5' studio (some may call it a dinette) in a 5th wheel camper, while traveling the United States. I've been on the road for six years, so most of my recent work will have come from a different state (of mind and location) during my travels.

Music makes me feel better about everything. I don't know that I'm ever happier than when I am creating. I sometimes wonder if creativity isn't one of the primary keys to happiness. Do you ever feel better than when you say, "Look what I did."? This phrase magically conjures the purest sense of childlike joy.

Music works for every part of our lives. We all have music for when we are sad, happy, celebrating, meeting others, when we are alone, and even when we are lonely. Did a song come to mind as you read each of those situations? I remember the first song I ever heard on the radio, on my first bus ride to kindergarten. One of my favorite musical memories is playing in a band for steel beach on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz.

I love telling stories with music. Everybody loves John Coffey in the Green Mile, but Mr. Jingles should have a song commemorating his reaching and joining the circus at Mouseville. If you agree, join me for this and similar journeys. The music here is synthetic, but as real as you would choose to have it.

I love listening to & creating ambient, dark ambient, avant-garde & experimental electronica (and the occasional beatscape). I have no professional aspirations  - I just really like creating music / manipulating sounds. It's my way of relaxing after a hard day at the office. All my tracks are produced using monitoring headphones (Audix A140) so I recommend that you listen to my music through headphones. My DAW of choice is FL Studio. I also use Reason every now & then. 


To the artists I follow; I do my best to try to listen to as many of your tracks as possible each night (I listen to each track all the way through - you went through the effort to create a track so you deserve to have it heard in full). If I miss a recent upload of yours, please forgive me...

From the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, I would like to take this time to THANK EVERYONE for listening to, and commenting on all my tracks. Hello!, I'm David Gordon, a.k.a. OneAmbient4, composer of layered ambient, space ambient and electronic music. Since the 1970's when electronic music made its way into my life, starting with Switched On Bach, Tomita, JMJ, and others, I became very interested in electronic music. But then, the equipment was too expensive to own. So I waited.... Along came computers and later VSTi's and software. Also the Synths have dropped in price. With the help of others, here I am. So please enjoy. For your best experience, use headphones. If you would like to use one of my productions in your works, please contact me.

I make lo-fi, melodic, instrumental electronica, conceived, composed and recorded using only a laptop and a digital audio workstation (currently Ableton Live 11).

Due to domestic constraints, I work entirely on headphones so it probably follows that my recordings are best appreciated via the same medium.
