O'Neill Plays Crowded House

This album is G’Day G’Day which is the fifth part of the project of Australian music and another tribute album to Australian Bands and Artists. The 1st volume is called Sounds of Then...This is Australia, the 2nd volume is True Blue, the 3rd volume is called Howzat and the 4th volume is called Down Under.

There were great Australian Bands and Artists whose music I loved right from my early teens…I have picked songs that have had a connection with me and always wanted to do my own ‘cover versions’…So there are songs across the generations from 1969 to 2015 which covers many bands and artists, so something for everyone...

The title song ‘G’Day G’Day’ (Slim Dusty) (1988) is a popular Australian Folk song that gives an authentic theme of Australian country music. Other Australian country songs on this album include ‘Raining On The Plains’ (John Williamson) (2002), ‘I Love You So Rebecca’ (Johnny Chester) (2003) and ‘People Like Us’ (Lee Kernaghan) (2009) to delight country music fans... 

‘Picking Up Pebbles’ (Mat Flinders) (1969) is a former singer and TV presenter who rose to prominence in the late 1960s in Australia and the song is an old favourite of mine, so hope you enjoy this nostalgic melody.

There are a few songs from the seventies that include ‘Open Up Your Heart’ (G. Wayne Thomas) (1973), ‘Blue Jeans’ (Skyhooks) (1976), ‘Lady’ (Little River Band) (1978), ‘So Many Paths’ (Little River Band) (1978) and ‘I'm Coming Home’ (Beeb Birtles & Graeham Goble) (1979). So, hope you enjoy these oldies as well...

The eighties hits include ‘I Got You’ (Split Enz) (1980), ‘Chemistry’ (Mondo Rock) (1981), ‘Maxine’ (Sharon O'Neill) (1983), ‘Don't Dream It's Over’ (Crowded House) (1986), ‘Mystify’ (Inxs) (1987). So, something for the eighty’s fans...

Two hits for the ninety’s fans in ‘Throw Your Arms Around Me’ (Hunters and Collectors) (1990) and ‘October Grey’ (Screaming Jets) (1997) which has an accompanying music video and included the links below. So, hope you enjoy these hits as well...
 
From 2000 onwards includes the country songs mentioned above and ‘Standing On The Outside’ (Cold Chisel) (2007), ‘If You Love Someone’ (The Veronicas) (2014) and ‘I'd Go With You Anywhere’ (Birds of Tokyo) (2015), which also has an accompanying music video. So, something for the modern generation of fans...

This is my 46th Studio Album ‘C’Mon Aussie C’Mon’ which is the 7th part of the project of Australian music, and another tribute album to Australian Bands and Artists. The 1st volume is ‘Sounds of Then...This is Australia’, the 2nd volume is ‘True Blue’, the 3rd volume is ‘Howzat’, the 4th volume is ‘Down Under’, the 5th volume is ‘G’Day G’Day and the 6th volume is ‘My Island Home’.

‘I Am Australian’ is a popular Australian folk song written in 1987 by Bruce Woodley of the Seekers and Dobe Newton of the Bushwackers. The song was first released as the final track on Bruce Woodley's 1987 double album ‘Roaring Days/I Am Australian’, with vocals by Woodley and his daughter Claire.

‘C'Mon Aussie C'Mon’ is popular Australian cricket anthem by ‘The Mojo Singers’ and was released in 1978.

‘Like It Like That’ is the title track and first single from Australian Pop, R&B and Soul Singer-songwriter Guy Sebastian's fifth album ‘Like It Like That’. It was co-written by Sebastian, David Ryan Harris, and Sean Hurley. It was released on 13 August 2009.

‘Missing Piece’ is a song by Australian singer-songwriter Vance Joy, released on 21 May 2021 through Liberation Music as the lead single from Joy's third studio album, ‘In Our Own Sweet Time’.

‘Unstoppable’ is a song by Australian singer-songwriter Sia, taken from her seventh studio album ‘This Is Acting’ (2016).

‘Are You Old Enough’ is a song by New Zealand rock band Dragon, released in August 1978 while the band were still based in Australia. It was released as the first single from the group's fifth studio album ‘O Zambezi’ (1978).

‘Need You Tonight’ is a song by the Australian rock band INXS, released as the first single from their 1987 album, ‘Kick’, as well as the fourth song on the album.

‘Mean to Me’ is the debut single of rock band Crowded House, released in 1986 on the group's self-titled debut album, ‘Crowded House’. 

‘Capricorn Dancer’ is a song by Australian singer-songwriter Richard Clapton and was released on 18 April 1977.

‘Don’t You Know It’s Magic is a song by John Farnham and was released on 18 Dec 1972 from his Album ‘Magic and Rock ‘N Roll’.

‘Morningtown Ride’ is a lullaby, written and performed by Malvina Reynolds. It was covered by The Seekers and their recording reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart.

‘Just as I Am’ is a song by American singer-songwriter Rob Hegel. It was co-written with Dick Wagner and was released as a single in 1982. The song was covered three years later by English-Australian soft rock duo Air Supply from their eighth studio and second album, ‘Air Supply’.

‘Please Don’t Ask Me’ is a song by John Farnham and was released on 3 July 1980 from his Album ‘Uncovered’.

‘Banks of the Ohio’ is a 19th-century murder ballad, written by unknown authors. The song has been performed by many country and folk singers. Olivia Newton-John released a version in 1971 and her recording reached No. 1 in Australia.

‘Bad Boy For Love’ is a song by Australian rock band “Rose Tattoo’ from their Album ‘Rock ‘n Roll Outlaw’ and was released in Nov 1978.

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap is the third studio album by Australian hard rock band AC/DC, released in 1976.

‘Shadow Boxer’ is a song by Australian hard rock group ‘The Angels’, released in June 1979 as the lead and only single from the group's third studio album, ‘No Exit’.

‘Speak No Evil’ is a song by New Zealand band Dragon released in February 1985 as the lead single from the group's eighth studio album ‘Dreams of Ordinary Men’.

‘New Sensation’ is a song by Australian rock group INXS. It was the third single released from their sixth studio album, ‘Kick ‘(1987). 

‘Sounds of Then (This Is Australia)’ is a 1985 song by Australian rock band, Gang Gajang, from their self-titled debut album, ‘Gang Gajang’.

Mean To Me (O'Neill Fernandes)

When I embarked on this journey, I never ever imagined I would be celebrating producing and recording my 50th Album...what a wonderful musical journey this has been. It has brought joy to millions of people around the globe and helped me overcome many health and mental challenges. 

I grew up loving Australian music and had a profound impact in cherishing Australian culture and the Aussie way of life. So, this is the 8th Australian Album from the project dedicated to Australian Artists and Bands.

‘Something So Strong’ is a rock song written by Neil Finn and Mitchell Froom and performed by Crowded House for their debut album (June 1986).
 
‘Holy Grail’ is a song performed by the Australian band Hunters & Collectors on their 1992 album ‘Cut’.

‘Rain’ is a song by rock group ‘Dragon’ released in July 1983 as the first single of their seventh studio album, ‘Body and the Beat’ (June 1984).

‘Indisposed’ is a song by the band ‘Australian Crawl’ and was release in 1980 from their Album ‘The Boys Light Up’.

‘It's a Long Way There’ is a song by Australian band ‘Little River Band’, released in August 1976 as the band's debut single and their self-titled studio album. 

‘Walk A Country Mile’ is a song by Australian Country Singer ‘Slim Dusty’ released in 1979 from the Album of the same name.

‘On the Prowl’ is a song written by Jimmy Manzie and recorded by Australian band Ol' 55. The song was released in May 1976 as the lead single from the band's debut studio album, ‘Take It Greasy’.

‘Devil Inside’ is a song by Australian rock band ‘INXS’. The song was written by Andrew Farriss and Michael Hutchence and was released as the second single from the band's sixth studio album ‘Kick’, in February 1988.

‘Witchery’ is a song by Australian band Little River Band, released in July 1977 as the second single from the group's third studio album, ‘Diamantina Cocktail’. 

‘Original Sin’ is a song by Australian rock group INXS, released as the first single from the band's fourth album, ‘The Swing’ (1983). It was written by Michael Hutchence and Andrew Farriss and produced by Nile Rodgers.

‘Faded Roses’ is a song by Australian musician ‘Broderick Smith’ and was released as a single in 1981.

‘The One Thing’ is a song by Australian rock group INXS, released in July 1982 as the first single of their third studio album, ‘Shabooh Shoobah’.

‘T.N.T.’ is a song released in 1975 by Australian rock band AC/DC, taken from their album T.N.T. It was released as a single in 1976 and was written by Bon Scott, Angus Young and Malcolm Young.
 
‘The Carnival Is Over’ is a song written by Tom Springfield, for the Australian folk pop group the Seekers. The song was released in 1965.

‘Looking for an Echo’ is a song written by Richard Reicheg. Australian band ‘Ol’55’ released a version and final single from their debut studio album ‘Take It Greasy’ (1976).

‘Man of The Hour’ is a song by Australian musician John Farnham and was released as a single in 2005.

‘Here I Am’ is a song written and first recorded by Norman Saleet. It was recorded the following year by the British/Australian rock duo ‘Air Supply’ and released as the second single from their sixth studio album ‘The One That You Love’.

‘Don't Throw It All Away’ is a song written by British musician Gary Benson. Australian pop singer Lori Balmer covered the song in 1976, reaching No. 66 in Australia.

‘Better Be Home Soon’ is a song written by Neil Finn and performed by rock band Crowded House. It appears on their second studio album, ‘Temple of Low Men’, which was later released in July 1988. 

‘Great Southern Land’ is a song by Australian rock band ‘Icehouse’. It was released on 9 August 1982, as the lead single from their second studio album Primitive Man. It peaked at No. 5 on the Australian Singles Chart.
