O'Neill Plays Dance (Vol.2)

This is Let’s Dance...Vol.3 which is a composition of cover songs from across the genres and through the generations...There are also Let’s Dance Vol1 & 2 which I have recorded and produced earlier...so go on and have a listen, if you haven’t heard them before...bound to entertain...for sure.

The album starts off with the song Dancing on A Saturday Night, which was a hit by Barry Blue in 1973. It is followed by the Beatles Rock & Roll Music, which was a hit in 1964. There are other rock and roll hits like Elvis Presley’s Jailhouse Rock going all the way back to 1957...but the song is a real dance classic and very popular through the generations.

Chuck Berry is one of the all-time greats of rock and roll and have admired his singing and guitar playing. I always wanted to record one of his songs and what better than ‘Johnny B. Goode’ (released in 1955) which is considered one of the most recognizable songs in the history of popular music and is credited as "the first rock & roll hit about rock & roll stardom”. So, I hope you enjoy my cover version....

Chubby Checker is an American rock and roll singer and dancer who was famous for the Twist, and I have done a cover version of Let’s Twist Again (released in 1961) and hope you can have a dance or do the twist or just enjoy the music...

I have tried a bit of Latin music in La Bamba and the Gypsy Kings version of Volare...so go on and have a dance...

A touch of Rhythm and Blues with Sweet Home Chicago which was made famous by the Blue Brothers in 1980...so something for the R&B fans to enjoy...

A bit of country dance with Dwight Yoakam’s Heartaches by The Number for the country music fans to get you up and dancing...so I hope you enjoy this one as well.

A bit of Reggae with the songs Games People Play and Sweets for My Sweets...so something for the Reggae fans to indulge...

Some classic Rock tracks with the Doobie Brothers China Grove, ELO’s Hold on Tight, Elvis’ Burning Love, Cliff Richard’s Please Don’t Tease and Shakin’ Stevens, You Drive Me Crazy will certainly get you rocking along or just enjoying the music...

I have done my own cover version of Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You...a challenging song for an instrumental, but am happy with my cover version...so hope you enjoy this one as well...

Katrina and the Waves’ Walking on Sunshine will certainly lift the mood and I have recorded a new version...so hope you enjoy the song...

Two classic dance songs to finish the album with Whams’ Freedom and Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance with Somebody...so hope you enjoy these as well...

So, I really enjoyed the challenge in doing this dance album which has improved my mixing and production skills up a notch and has allowed me to expand my creativity to the another level...

Shape Of You (O'Neill Fernandes)

This is Let’s Dance...Vol.4 which is a composition of cover songs from across the genres and through the generations...There are also Let’s Dance Vol1, 2 & 3 which I have recorded and produced earlier...so go on and have a listen if you haven’t heard them before...bound to entertain...for sure.

The album starts off with the song December ’1963 (Oh What a Night) by The Four Seasons, which was a hit by Frankie Valli in 1975. It is followed by Wanda Jackson’s ‘Let’s Have a Party’ going all the way back to 1958 and complemented by Jerry Lee Lewis’ ‘Great Balls of Fire’ (1957)

‘Is This The Way To Amarillo’ is a song written by Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield. It is about a man traveling to Amarillo, Texas, to find his girlfriend Marie. It was a big hit for Tony Christi in Nov 1971. I hope you enjoy my cover version.

The Bay City Rollers was one of my favourite bands of the 70’s. I have recorded two of their songs from their debut album ‘Rollin’. ‘Shang-a-Lang’ (1974) and ‘Bye Bye Baby’ (1975).

If you have followed my music, you would know that Queen and Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) are two of my favourite bands. Their music was a cross-pollination of Rock and Classical Music that stood out in the music industry. Regarding Queen, I have recorded two of their songs in ‘Fat Bottom Girls’ (1978) and Crazy Little Thing Called Love (1979). 

‘Rockaria’ is a song by Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), written by Jeff Lynne and was the third track on the band's successful 1976 album A New World Record, and was the second single from the album.

I have recoded two tracks in the genre Latin Rock in the Gypsy Kings Medley (1995) and Santana’s ‘Evil Ways’ (1969) ...so go on and have a dance...

A touch of Rhythm and Blues with ‘CC Rider’ (1958) by Chuck Wills...so something for the R&B fans to enjoy...

Tina Charles is an English singer who achieved success as a disco artist in the mid to late 1970s. I have recorded one of her hits in ‘Dance Little Lady Dance’ (1976). So, I hope this one will bring back some memories and get you up dancing or reminiscing.

A bit of Reggae with the song by Blondie ‘The Tide is High’ (1967) ...so something for the Reggae fans to indulge...

Some classic Rock tracks with the Robert Palmer’s ‘Bad Case of Loving You’ (1978), ‘Higher and Higher’ by Rita Coolridge (1977), ‘Somebody to Love’ by Jefferson Airplane (1967), The Young Ones (Cliff Richard) (1962) and Cecilia by Simon and Art Garfunkel (1970) will certainly get you rocking along or just enjoying the music...
So, I really enjoyed the challenge in doing this dance album which has improved my mixing and production skills up a notch and has allowed me to expand my creativity to another level...

Gipsy Kings Medley (O'Neill Fernandes)

This is Let’s Dance...Vol.5, a special 35th Album celebration...an amazing journey...

When I embarked on this journey, I never ever imagined I would be celebrating producing and recording my 35th Album...what a wonderful experience this has been. This Album is one of the most challenging albums I have ever recorded and produced to date...It has taken me to the next level on my musical journey...so I hope you enjoy listening or dancing to the songs. 

This Album is a composition of cover songs from 1964 to 2022, across the genres and through the generations...There are also previous volumes 1 to 4 which have been released earlier...so go on and have a listen if you haven’t heard them before...bound to entertain...for sure. 

The songs from the Sixties include ‘On The Beach’ (1964) by Cliff Richard, which is a new version and a song by the Rolling Stones called ‘The Last Time’ (1965).

Seventies hits include ‘Lady Rose’ (1971) by the British group Mungo Jerry. The title track ‘Let’s Dance (Vol.5) (1972) by the group called The Cats, ‘Saturday Night’ (1973) by the Bay City Rollers, ‘You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)’ (1978) by the American singer Sylvester, ‘Blame It On The Boogie’ (1978) by Michael Jackson, ‘I Was Made For Dancin’ (1978) by Leif Garrett, ‘Save Me’ (1979) by the all-female South African rock band Clout. So, I hope these bring back a few memories.... 

The Eighties hits include ‘Modern Love’ (1983) by the English singer-songwriter David Bowie, ‘Wild Wild Life’ (1986) by the American rock band Talking Heads and ‘Lambada’ (1989) by the French-Brazilian pop group Kaoma. 

Nineties Hits include ‘Macarena’ (1993) by the Spanish pop duo Los del Rio, ‘Movin On Up’ (1993) by the British band M People, ‘100% Pure Love’ (1994) by the singer-songwriter Crystal Waters, and ‘Mysterious Girl’ (1996) by British singer-songwriter Peter Andre.

Hits from 2000 onward include ‘Country Girl’ (2006) by the Scottish rock band Primal Scream, ‘Shut Up and Dance’ (2014) by American pop band Walk The Moon, ‘Levitating’ (2020) by English singer Dua Lipa and ‘Bam Bam’ (2022) by Cuban-American singer Camila Cabello, featuring vocals from English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran.

So, I really enjoyed the challenge in doing this dance album in which I continue to learn and improve my musical skills and knowledge. I’m sure you will enjoy listening and dancing to this album as I have enjoyed recording and producing it...

This is my 40th Album which is a double Album and Side A is ‘Shades of The Shads...Vol.3’ and Side B is ‘Let’s Dance...Vol.6’.

This Album is a composition of cover songs from 1957 to 1999, across the genres and through the generations.

‘Swing the Mood’ is a song by British pop music act ‘Jive Bunny’ and the Mastermixers, released as the first single from their debut album, ‘Jive Bunny: The Album’ (1989).

‘At the Hop’ is a 1957 pop song written by Artie Singer, John Medora, and David White and originally released by ‘Danny & The Juniors’.

‘Yummy Yummy Yummy’ is a song first recorded by Ohio Express in 1968. 

‘Peppermint Twist’ is a song written by Joey Dee and Henry Glover, recorded, and released by Joey Dee and the Starliters in 1961.

‘Baby Come Back’ is a song by English band the Equals from their 1967 album Unequalled Equals and written by Eddy Grant. Pato Banton and London Boys recorded cover versions of the song that were hits. 

‘Twist and Shout’ is a 1961 song written by Phil Medley and Bert Berns. The song has been covered by several artists including Chaka Demus & Pliers (1992), who experienced chart success with their versions.

‘In the Summertime’, released in 1970, is the debut single by British rock band ‘Mungo Jerry’. 

‘Coco Jamboo’ is a song by German band Mr. President. It was released on 29 March 1996 as the lead single from their second studio album, ‘We See the Same Sun’ (1996).

‘Keep It Comin' Love’ is a song by KC and the Sunshine Band, released as a single in 1977 and was released on their 1976 album, ‘Part 3’.

‘Right Back Where We Started From’ is a song which was first recorded in the middle of 1975 by Maxine Nightingale for whom it was an international hit.

‘Thank God I'm A Country Boy’ is a song recorded by American singer/songwriter John Denver. The song was originally included on Denver's 1974 album ‘Back Home Again’. 

‘Boot Scootin' Boogie’ is a cover song recorded by Brooks & Dunn recorded a cover version, which was included on their 1991 debut album, ‘Brand New Man’. 

‘Dancin' Cowboys’ is a song by ‘The Bellamy Brothers’ and was released in May 1980 as the second single from the album ‘You Can Get Crazy’.

“Bem Bem Maria’ is a song by the Gipsy Kings and was released in 1989.

‘Summer Holiday’ is a 1963 screenplay written by Peter Myers and Ronald Cass who also wrote most of the song numbers and lyrics.

‘Bring It All Back’ is the debut single of British pop group S Club 7. 

‘Jingle Jangle’ is a song by ‘The Archies’ and produced by Jeff Barry. The single reached number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 27 on the U.S. Easy Listening chart in 1969.

‘Don't Bring Me Down’ is the ninth and final track on the English rock band the Electric Light Orchestra's 1979 album Discovery. It is their highest charting hit in the United States to date.

‘Marie, Marie’ by Shakin' Stevens was written by Dave Alvin and was first released by ‘The Blasters’ in 1980. Shakin' Stevens also released a cover version in 1980.

‘Jeepster’ is a song by English rock act T. Rex and was released on 5 November 1971 as a single from the group's sixth studio album (and second as T. Rex) ‘Electric Warrior’.

‘I'm So Excited’ is a song by American vocal group the Pointer Sisters. Jointly written and composed by the sisters in collaboration with Trevor Lawrence, it was originally released in September 1982, reaching number 30 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

This album is ‘Rock And Roll Heaven’ which is my 44th Album and continues with more classic rock hits across the genres and generations and contains music from (1961) to (1995).

‘Rock And Roll Heaven’ is a song written by Alan O'Day and Johnny Stevenson. The song was first recorded by the band Climax in 1973, but it failed to chart. It was then covered by The Righteous Brothers in 1974 and reached number three on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

‘Rock and Roll Part 2’ is the debut single by English rock singer Gary Glitter that was released in 1972, from his debut studio album Glitter. 

‘All You Ever Do is Bring Me Down’ " is a song written by Raul Malo and Al Anderson and recorded by American country music group The Mavericks.  It was released in January 1996 as the second single from the 1995 album ‘Music for All Occasions’. 

‘You Can Call Me Al’ is a song by American singer-songwriter Paul Simon. It was the lead single from his seventh studio album, Graceland (1986).

‘Don't Get Me Wrong’ is a song released by British-American rock group The Pretenders. It was the first single taken from the group's 1986 album, ‘Get Close’.

‘Hope of Deliverance’ is a song by English singer-songwriter Paul McCartney, released in December 1992 as the lead single from his ninth solo studio album, ‘Off the Ground (1993).

Don't Treat Me Like a Child is the 1961 debut single of Helen Shapiro and was written by John Schroeder and Mike Hawker.

‘I Might’ is a song by Shakin’ Stevens from his Album ‘There Are Two Kinds of Music’ and was released in 1980.

‘Never Can Say Goodbye’ is a song written by Clifton Davis and originally recorded by the Jackson 5. It has been covered numerous times, most notably in 1974 by Gloria Gaynor.

‘Got My Mind Set on You’ is a song written and composed by Rudy Clark and originally recorded by James Ray in 1962. In 1987, George Harrison released a cover version of the song on his album ‘Cloud Nine’.

‘Ventura Highway’ is a 1972 song by the band America from their album ‘Homecoming’ and was written by Dewey Bunnell.

‘Baker Street’ is a song written and performed by Scottish singer-songwriter Gerry Rafferty from his Album ‘City to City’ and was released in 1978.

‘A Whiter Shade of Pale’ is a song by the English rock band Procol Harum that was issued as their debut record on 12 May 1967. 

‘Take It to the Limit’ is a song by the Eagles from their fourth album ‘One of These Nights’ from which it was issued as the third single on November 15, 1975.

‘Another Day’ is a song by English rock musician Paul McCartney and was released as the A-side of a non-album single in February 1971.

‘Woodstock’ is a song written by Joni Mitchell.  Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's cover version, which appeared on their March 1970 album ‘Déjà Vu’ and became a staple of classic rock and the best-known version in the United States.

‘Shambala’ is a song written by Daniel Moore and made famous by two near-simultaneous releases in 1973: the better-known but slightly later recording by Three Dog Night from their Album ‘Cyan’.

‘Small Town’ is a 1985 song written by John Mellencamp and released on his eighth album ‘Scarecrow’. The song reached #6 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

‘Sooner or Later’ is a 1971 hit song by The Grass Roots. It was released as a single and put on their third compilation album, ‘Their 16 Greatest Hits’. 

‘American Pie’ is a song by American singer and songwriter Don McLean. Recorded and released in 1971 on the album of the same name.

I’m very happy and proud of this classic rock album, which I feel is up there as one of best albums I have recorded and produced to-date.
