O'Neill Plays Love Ballads (Vol.2)

This album is Sweetheart…Ver.2 which is a new version of the Album Sweetheart...Vol.1, which I released in June 2019. 

I recorded and produced the original album at a time when I was struggling with major health issues. On reflection, this album helped me enormously at the time, but when I listen to the music now...I can hear and feel the low energy of the music and don’t feel that I have brought out the best in music I recorded. So here it is again, and I hope you enjoy this version.   

This Album consists of Love Ballads across the generations and is dedicated to my family for the amazing love and support I have received throughout my many health issues and challenges.

The title track ‘Sweetheart’ is a song that was released in 1971 by Engelbart Humperdinck and is one of my favourites...I have also recorded a number of his songs on this album such as ‘Three Little Words (I Love You)’ (1967), ‘The Way It Used to Be’ (1969), ‘After the Lovin’ (1976) and ‘The Last Waltz’ (1967). So, hope you enjoy these oldies and vintage music.

If you have followed my music, you would have realised that Cliff Richard is one of my favourite artists...and have included several his songs on this album. ‘A little in Love’ (1980). An all-time favourite of mine ‘When the Girl in Your Arms’ (1961) and ‘How Wonderful to Know (1961). So, hope you enjoy these songs as well.

A beautiful love ballad by Bryan Adams ‘Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman’ (1995) and Love is All Around by Wet, Wet, Wet (1994). 

A couple of Classics in ‘One and One is One’ (Medicine Head) (1973) and ‘By the Devil (I was Tempted) (Blue Mink) (1973) will also lift the mood...so enjoy these as well.
 
Other Love ballads like Just One Look by the Hollies (1964), ‘Wonderful World by Sam Cooke (1960), Can’t Take My Eyes of You (Andy Williams) (1967), Nine Million Bicycles (Katie Melua) (2008), ‘The Lady in Red’ (Chris De Burgh) (1986), a vintage Seekers Song ‘I’ll Never Find Another You’ (1968) and the Vogues ‘You’re the One’ (1965) ...will definitely bring back memories. I hope you enjoy these as well.

The music that I produce, and my emotional energy are very much entwined. As part of my musical journey, the need to reflect on past musical productions is a matter of course and some albums may need to undergo a much-needed revamp...so stay with me on this journey and I hope you enjoy the music as much as I have in reproducing it.

This album is Eternally is a collection of love ballads that takes you on a nostalgic journey of music through the generations…  

The album is dedicated in loving memory of our Dad (Austin) and the title song ‘Eternally’ was one of his favourites, which he sang quite often in the shower...some fond memories there... 
 
This is a chill-out album which is easy to listen and has some great hits like Stone in Love With You, My Happiness, Ace of Hearts, Amor, Afternoon Delight, Never Be Anyone Else But You, Long Live Love which will hopefully bring back some fond memories...

In the 70’s there was a song called Sad Eyes which is one of my favourites and I hope you enjoy my cover version of this song... 

There are other hits like Les Bicyclettes De Belsize, Dance While the Music Goes On, I Haven’t Met You Yet, Rose Garden, Old Fashioned Love Song...so hope you enjoy these songs as well…

Other songs include Baby I Love You, A Little More Love and Going Home (Theme Song from Local Hero). A great new song from Lucas Graham called Love Someone, which is a wonderful melody...I enjoyed recording this one and hope it resonates with you as well.

Never Be Anyone Else But You (O'Neill Fernandes)

This album is Howzat which is the third part of the project of Australian music and another tribute album to Australian Bands and Artists. The first volume is called Sounds of Then...This is Australia, and the second volume is True Blue.

There were great Australian Bands and Artists whose music I loved right from my early teens to my late 40s …I have picked songs that have had a connection with me and always wanted to do my own ‘cover versions’…

The term Howzat is a saying from a cricket game and is based on a popular Australian song from the 70’s of the same name (one of my favourites) and the title track that celebrates Australian music.

In this album, I have focused on bands like Sherbet, Bangles, The Divinyls, Little River Band, Skyhooks, Cold Chisel, Little Heroes, Weddings Parties Anything, Sheppard and Split Enz.  Solo artists include Renee Geyer, Oliva Newton-John, Peter Allen, David Dundas, Ted Mulry and Bill & Boyd.

We Are Australian and I Still Call Australia Home are two popular Australian Folk songs which are part of this Australian Album and links to the celebration of Australia Day on January 26th. I hope you enjoy listening to my cover version of these two songs.

The tittle track Love is All I Have to Give was released in 1987 by Engelbert Humperdinck and it sums up what this album is about... Love is All... So, I hope it resonates with you as well...

Lobo is an American singer-songwriter who was successful in the early 1970s, scoring several U.S. Top 10 hits including Don’t Expect Me to Be Your Friend and I’d Love You to Want Me which are on the An Eternal Flame Album. I have included a couple more of his hits in this album... It Sure Took a Long Time to Miss Me and Standing at the End of the Line…really love his music…

I have always loved Abba’s music; they were a 70’s Swedish group who had major hits and were really successful in Australia. I Have a Dream is an inspirational song which has helped me in my life many times and I always wanted to do a cover version of this song which is on this album. I hope you enjoy my cover version...  

I have picked great hits across the generations that have had a connection with me such as... I Was Only Joking, You Don’t Own Me, Heaven is My Woman’s Love, Arms of Mary, The First Cut is the Deepest, Let Me Be There, Tonight’s the Night, I’m So in Love with You...all great hits which I’m sure will bring back some memories...

Other hits include Alone Again Naturally, Put A Little Love in Your Heart, I’m Leaving It All Up to You, Heading in The Right Direction, Julie Do You Love Me and to finish the album...a wonderful song by Don Williams...I Believe in You which I recorded from my wife Linda who has been inspirational in my life...I hope you enjoy this song, as well.
