Preternatural (extended)

[Verse 1]
I won a ticket to the free ride 
at the human amusement park
It was gold and covered in tiny writing 
and I couldn't see without my glasses 
And then I realised hold on a minute 
I don't need glasses.
So in this mild confusion i look closer 
and see that it's not in fact tiny writing at all 
but a series of Ancient Egyptian heiroglyphics, 
still couldn't read it, 
but I feel like it must mean something.
See, I'd never been to a amusement park before,
I'd been to a zoo, 
i'd seen a farm and an airport and concert hall, 
but there wasn’t so much of an amusement to be had at these places, 
in fact, I only smiled once at the airport
and that was at the exit.

So the way it went down is I was sitting one day 
Resting my feet on a bundle of hay 
I found somewhere, out there, out of the way, 
Where I could find some peace and quiet 
Lean right back look into the sky 
and ask the big old universe; 
why you got me down here
Peeping through these eyes,

It was a magnificent offering beyond my wildest imagination 
and I'd learned to see without my glasses 
It wasn't the only thing I'd ever been gifted, 
but hell, it was the most interesting.
So, I'd seen all the sights 
and listened closely to all the sounds 
all around, 
I'd smiled, cried, pouted and frowned, 
I'd opened my mouth as wide as it can go, 
and tasted many fruits bought right to my home, 
I'd leaned into the best of the things that I'd known,
because it seemed to give life a more glorious glow.
One day I woke up 
into a terrible dream, 
I was parked up sideways at the edge of the scene
The meaning no longer meant what it means, 
so I ditched my jeans 
for something softer.
The man on the news said that it’s time to join hands, 
rise together and take a stand 
against whichever neighbour makes you mildly mad
So bare the flag and hold up your hands
We’re going to war, oh yeah, what's the score? 
Looks like a draw, but everyone loses, 
we're all confused, just waiting to choose.
