Welcome to part 2 of the latest track within our 'Legends' Sound set, 'In the Shadow of the Moon'

Matt's explaining:
This track is inspired by the beauty that is created on the passing of the full moon, when the night is illuminated by the wash of pale yellow light when the sun is reflected from the Lunar surface. 
I had originally planned to write a story about the love between two fantasy creatures who dwell deep in a dark woods, only to venture out together when the sun goes down, 'In the Shadow of the Moon'.
But whilst composing this track I researched a little about the moon and how it is revered by almost every culture on our planet and has long been linked to so many myths, legends and folklore. So what is a 'Full Moon', well after researching I discovered it was not necessarily what I understood it to be.

A Full Moon is when the sun and the moon are facing opposite, being in opposite direction from an earth perspective.
This might feel astonishing if one imagines that the moon is on one side, the sun on the other and the earth in between? Shouldn’t the earth throw a shadow onto the moon? Bingo – this is exactly what she does! But only when the moon is exactly on the earth orbit, the so called “ecliptic”. When this takes place, we speak of a lunar eclipse!
When the moon is above or underneath the ecliptic (which is mostly the case), one side of the moon is completely illuminated and uninterrupted from the earth’s shadow projection of the sun, and can be viewed from our planet as full moon.

Remember [1]  Full moon means: sun and moon opposite each other, earth in between.
Remember [2]  When the moon is on the ecliptic &rt; shadow of earth onto moon &rt; lunar eclipse. 
This is why it makes complete sense that a lunar eclipse can only take place at full moon!

This website is very interesting a also covers a lot of information about the beliefs, cultures and experiences related to the Moon. So in respect to my original inspiration, it is fair to say we are all actually the focus of my track. So next time your share a magical moonlight night with the ones that you love, please try to take a moment to bathe in the moonlight and enjoy this amazing spectacle, and perhaps listen to this track and let yourself drift away into your own personal fantasy.

Matt Baker & John Styles - In the shadow of the Moon (part 2)

I am John de Bruijn, born in Holland in 1956, since 1972 I'm a songwriter, composer, producer and arranger by the name John Styles, and I recorded several songs within different Projects also with other groups.
I wrote a lot of ballads in the past also for other artists, when i started working within Projects, I started into making background / theme-music for docu's, movies & commercials, and I still do.

With https://soundcloud.com/quenya-projects we ask other musicians to join us to collab on NewAge, Celtic and Folk / experimental type of music.

I also collaborated with many artists over the years, We found the right way to work together, talking on the phone or skype discussing what or how we want things to be build up, and keep sending tracks back and forth till we're all satisfied.
The nice thing of working into those Projects is that you can help new talents on their way, and working with them also gave me other chances, and I became a allround songwriter / composer within all styles and types of music.
I traveled all over the world to scout for new talents, which made me a more fulfilling person, and I feel rich (not moneywise), being so close to so many cultures I learned so much, and I also make Therapy Music for about 10 years now.

I am very happy that my music helps so many people all over the world, and that I can use my talent to help others, so that my God's given gift can be spread out and touch others, I'm blessed to be able to reach so many hearts and souls.
Music is my drive, without it I wouldn't feel alive, it's also a therapy for me, and luckily my family supports me all the way, that makes me a very happy man, and hopefully you'll be able to hear and sense that within my music, ENJOY my music!!!!!
