Eora-based DJ, Rubric, is a familiar face in the local music community as a co-founder of dstreet & club less, as well as being one of the minds behind sound system collective, Prion Audio. No stranger to throwing and curating events, they've developed a taste and style that is dynamic and immersive, while also being constantly in flux. Their experience and obsession with sound is evident in their mixes, with a careful attention placed on rhythm and frequency, resulting in sets that are deep, textured and lively.

DJ Eft is a terrestrial amphibian with roots in NJ & Philadelphia. The now Portland based DJ, producer, designer, animator, & "World Healer" has spent time slinking through the mycelial forest duff, sampling the sounds and flavors of the PNW old growth and ocean. Eft is a natural farmer with a strong connection to the cycles of nature and makes contact with the spirits regularly which guide his ethereal selections in ambient, hypnotic techno, dub techno, trance infused tech-house, 4th world, and experimental IDM. 

I first met DJ EFT, also known as Mugwert at Aqua Lucidity, a festival on the sunshine coast last year. I awoke in my tent the Saturday morning after a heavy session to amazing selections I initially thought were coming from the main and only stage. Instantly drawn to the post night early morning DMT energy coming out of his portable mini rig - we became friends. 

I later in the summer travelled down to Canyon Vibrations in Oregon to watch EFT play the downtempo stage where I entered into another realm from his selections. 

Anyway stoked to have the homie on the Inc.ternational series where we're searching far and wide for those off kilter and beautiful moments in music out of the mundane and formulaic. 

EFT has delivered a Weirdos inc. Mix for sure and i'm sure you'll enjoy!

It would be insufficient to call Rory McPike “prolific”; it does a disservice to the depth and breadth of his oeuvre as Rings Around Saturn, Cactus Head, Bleekman, 2200, Dan White, and as one half of Turner St Sound. His work can be broken into a litany of different genres, but at the heart of it all lies an endlessly explorative spirit with a restless desire for expression. This impulse spans his diverse body of work and all the different facets of his musical practice.

‘All Things Shining’ touches on ambient, electroacoustic studies and filmic/VGM composition, but outside of these references, it stands as a beautiful suite of songs and a testament to the power of the creative impulse. Best Effort is proud to present the realization of Rory's vision.
