OnPlanetZu is a self-contained entity, who's music crosses into a genre-confused electronic hip-hop/reggae/rock/you-name-it maelstrom of bass, beat and energy.  Their original, self-created sounds and 'no pre-recorded samples' approach to songwriting presents a fun, fresh high-energy blast compared to the follow-suit trend in today's music. Their songs contain an element of unpredictability-changing flow at any given turn.  OnPlanetZu's popular debut single, "Speakers" hit Earth with force, followed by their heavily base-infused "Fire." Both tracks are featured on the 2014 album "Adventures of Yo Mama."  Distributed through Sony RED to all major online retailers via Skee-Lo Musik, "Adventures of Yo Mama" has won rapidly wide appeal and has captured the attention of some respectable names in the music scene.  

Zu Tha Greatone, singer/songwriter for LA bands,'OnPlanetZu' and 'Bazerk' joins forces with producer, Cori Jacobs (Fader) to inspire an original and heavy new approach to electronic music. With over a decade of history in the music industry, the members of OnPlanetZu have an almost seamless way of working together.  Fader's affinity for OnPlanetZu has added a vital element of cohesiveness between the ideas in Zu's head and the outcome of the recorded song. His versatility as a live DJ insures him integral to the structure of OnPlanetZu.  Live shows consistently energize the crowd, drawing people to the dance floor.  OnPlanetZu performances might be Zu as a solo artist- proving his gift at entertainment- or he may be joined by DJ Fader and members of Bazerk.  Either way, the band never fails to deliver.

OnPlanetZu are big on collaborations.  They have many underway with Redman, Skee-Lo, Darcy Donnovan, Blackburner, Galilee, Supa, and more. They are inculded in a 2014 Trap music box set out of Cleopatra Records, which features a number of remixed tracks from OnPlanetZu. They were recently invited to open up the BET Idols and Icons Awards after-party.    

During his musical career, Zu has performed with such names as: Blackburner, Dawn of Ashes, Ludacris, KRS One, Prince, Dr. Mad Vibe (Angelo Moore of Fishbone), The Black Eyed Peas, 311 and George Clinton.  He is endorsed by LinkedIn members DJ Evil E (Ice T's dj) and Anthony Andrews of Lickwit Entertainment (responsible for underground Hip Hop acts: King Tee, NAS, Tha Alkaholiks, Xzibit, Defari, Dilated People, Stylisik Jones and Lootpack).  Zu's music has been featured in  MTV Top 10, MTV Pranked, Animal Planet, Alcoholics Anonymous commercials, PlayStation 3 Commercials and Clown voice-over, 2012 feature film, "Donner's Pass." Tone Toven, film director and long-time friend, has contributed to many of Zu's videos, including the smash hit video by OnPlanetZu, "Speakers,"  which earned over 100k views on YouTube within its first month.  "Speakers" has won OnPlanetZu a number of gold, silver and bronze medals for song/video production on beat100.com.  Tone's understanding of Zu's artistic style contributes to a visual presentation as in your face and out-of-the-box as the music itself.

Throughout my life, music has been my constant companion, comforting me in gloomy times and inspiring me in happy times.

For me, there is no better way to express feelings than singing accompanied by my guitar.

Growing up with horses, my professional path led me first into equine sports, especially int Cutting, a discipline of western riding, which is ridden on horses working cattle. For the past 10 years, I have successfully showed Cutting Horses in Europe and the USA and was on the board of the National Cutting Horse Association of Germany for 6 years, most of this time as president.

Influenced by the cowboy lifestyle, country music owns a big part of my musical passion. In various performances at family and friends events, I was always told, to do more with music in my life.

As a result, the desire to record 2 self-written songs in Nashville one day got priority on my bucketlist. I fulfilled this wish in March 2018. I had not hoped to come back to Germany with more than a burned CD with my 2 own songs on it for my CD shelf at home.

However, my vocal coach and recording studio, Kristin K. Smith, saw things differently and as the song was recorded, she gave me advice to publish the song in different ways and to give my music a new status in future.

Shortly after the release on 06/23/2018, the single is on the radio in Europe, in the US and also Canada, over 4,000 fans registered on my Facebook page within only 2 weeks. The fans come from all over Europe, USA and Canada. Of course, I am pretty proud that my music is so well received in the home country of country music, the US. The music video of “Push That Horn” was also viewed over 10,000 times on Youtube and Facebook in the first 2 weeks.

First appearances in Nashville at songwriter nights have convinced me, that I can actually reach many people with my music, with my own songs and that not only my friends and family are enthusiastic about my singing.

My repertoire ranges from classical titles to modern pieces of the country / folk section and also includes the pieces written by myself.

From 10/21/2018 until 11/10/2018 i had been in Nashville to record new songs, which will be released every 6 weeks, starting 11/15/2018 with a new version of 'Push That Horn' with female background vocals by Mel Georg.

It was a great experience to track the instruments at Saxman Studios and vocals at Sound Emporium Studios and see the songs come to life with the great people involved in the project.

After all new songs will be released as singles, they will be part of my upcoming first album in 2020.
