Chris Thomas is a young, up and coming House, minimal, techno DJ/Producer, born and raised in South-East London.  He's the founder of underground music event Noise & Girls, an event which focuses on the music he loves supporting artists such as Cera Alba, Kalyde (who featured in our Debut Transmission Section), Markel, Jey Kurmis, Jamie Trench, Low Steppa, Christoph to name but a few.

Founded September 2013, Noise & Girls was the first in Canterbury to introduce the sound of the underground. No frills, no gimmicks; Noise & Girls is all about the music and the atmosphere it creates.  It above all was setup to bring quality DJs who provide authentic music to a group of like-minded underground music enthusiasts.   We've been impressed with Chris for a while here at Data Transmission so we've invited him on to the Spotlight Series today, to show his stuff..

Lex Gorrie

DJ & Producer Lex Gorrie first found his passion for techno music in his late teens, going to pressure at the Arches in Glasgow, Scotland. Where he seen the likes of Adam Beyer, Ben Sims, Green Velvet, Jeff Mills & Ritchie Hawtin to name a few. In 2006 he then decided to start his own small techno event called "Sleaze" at club 69 in Paisley, with his brother Stephen(Hans Bouffmyhre). Sleaze was a massive success, attracting big names like J
ohanness Heil, Radio Slave, Phil Kieran, Extrawelt, Chloe, Dan Ghenacia, Par Grindvik & many more.

In the summer of 2008 Hans & Lex founded Sleaze Records, firstly as a platform to release their own music. But the label has grown & grown in the last few years & is now one of the most recognised techno labels on the globe.

In his relatively short production career, Lex has burst on the scene. He has been signed up to a string of top labels - Driving Forces Recordings, True Type Tracks, Brood Audio, Phobiq, Illegal Alien, Stolen Moments, Affin, Globox, Italo Business, & of course Sleaze.

His tracks have been played & supported by some of the biggest names in techno including Adam Beyer, James Zabiela, Slam, Jopeph Capriati, Len Faki, Drumcell, Audio Injection, Marco Bailey, Mistress Barbera, Alan Fitzpatrick, Phil Kieran, Kyle Geiger, Cari Lekebusch, Speedy J, Terrance Fixmer, Joel Mull, Sasha Carassi, Mark Antonio JPLS & many more.

In late 2011 & early 2012, Lex's first 2 vinyl releases came out on Sleaze Records & Driving Forces Recordings. His Sleaze EP, was a Co production with Hans Bouffmyhre called "Sibling Rivaly". The original track stormed the beatport top 100 charts & the massive package also included remixes from Samuel L Session & Alex Bau. His debut solo EP on Sleaze "Playing With Fire" was also a success gaining huge support & 2 of the tracks entering the beatport techno top 100 charts.

The future looks bright for Lex Gorrie, look out for his upcoming releases.
