Vicky Zissou favors the deeper and rhythmic side of techno, that is stimulating the mind + body and catching the soul. Hypnotical, tribalistic and emotional sounds are key in her organic crafted sets. The sounds are floating between atmospheric, dubby, acid and raw industrial.

Originally from Berlin, Vicky Zissou has now become an essential part of the Swedish techno scene. Since her DJ debut 4 years ago she has been frequently playing at Stockholms top venues and underground clubs and shared the stage with influential artists like Abdulla Rashim, Dorisburg, Evigt Morker, Insolate, Nima Khak, The Persuader, Joel Mull, Mirella Kroes, Fjader, Ed Davenport/Inland, Juho Kusti, Oliver Huntemann, Barac, Ellen Alien a.m.

In 2018 Hampus Bogren and Vicky started the project Matilda together.

Well we’ll simply start by saying a massive, heartfelt thanks to Unclear, the artist behind the 110th contribution to our ever-growing podcast series.

Today was one of THOSE days, you know.. where you feel like you might self-combust?! You’ve pushed yourself too hard with work, or perhaps lock down is getting to you a bit, or you’ve been stuck in your own mind…. well it was a bit like that for us until we dipped into this beauty, and we felt the tension literally melt away. Phew!

Unclear (aka Paolo Bianco) has been a busy bee of late, directing his creative energies into multiple projects, including The Alchemical Theory, Kill Acid on Space and Øyvind – each delivering a unique takes on deep and hypnotic techno, awakening the deepest corners of the mind to facilitate the ultimate release.

This special journey on vinyl offers the respite and relief many of us are seeking at the moment, and for that we’re truly thankful.

On the 5th Day Podcast #110 - Unclear

Latmos delivers four pieces of classy hypnotic techno with a special spacey vibe.

"Plural Lifeforms" puts emphasis on equality and human rights recurring to an evolving groove and a heavy action of bleepy and hypnotic elements.

In "Genom", liquid synths and ethereal elements are interleaved with a ritualistic high-decay kickdrum blended with a reverberated ambiance.

"Sinking" presents a more detailed ambient texture and fast-paced rhythmic patterns. Sharp reverberated hi-hats create expansive and hallucinatory effects in the background. 

"Algorytmi" reworks the vibe of the EP implementing a basic structure that makes the track playable in different contexts.

Overall, a very interesting EP for the lovers of classy techno. Don't miss it!
