Since their humble beginnings in a Wolverhampton suburban bedroom, Leeds-based hip hop, space jazz and bass-loving outfit Paper Tiger have carved their own niche in the electronic music scene, both as a heavyweight production outfit and as a damned fine live band (sharing stages with the likes of Homeboy Sandman, Quantic, Jaga Jazzist, Rustie, Gaslamp Killer, Daedelus, Alice Russell, Amon Tobin and many more).

Following the release of Laptop Suntan, their debut long-player on Wah Wah 45s, last autumn, plus a couple of highly rated mixtapes and a plethora of live shows across the country, this multi-talented six-piece felt it was about time they allowed some of their most noteworthy peers a go at re-working some of the album's finest moments.

Sultan Ant Pop isn't just any old remix album though (nor is it just any old anagram) as it not only features re-versions from some of the UK's finest producers such as LV, Murder He Wrote and Werkha, but also a hefty amount of original Paper Tiger music that has never before been released.

From Sam Redmore's bass worrying take of Gundam Bling, to Scrimshire's delicate tempo-changing remix of Crossover and new tracks such as [White's Dream] and [Uh-Huh], this album (like much of Paper Tiger's work) will simultaneously trouble dance floors and bedrooms alike! Appetite whetting stuff in anticipation of new material to come in 2015!

Cool, calm and collected are Ukrainian six-piece outfit, The Erised, who continue to excite since signing exclusively to the London label, Med School, late last year. The band's impressive debut release, the “Desire” EP, included the supremely popular “Pray” and “It's Over”, which helped establish a core following amongst music fans across Europe and beyond. 9 months later and they are back with their second release, offering the same level of craft and imagination.

First catching attention of a live audience in Kiev, as well as YouTube viewers across the world, “In My Car” is a downbeat discovery that infuses front-woman Sonya’s soulful vocals, contorted and chopped up alongside a mellow mixture of crisp beats and revamped 80’s style synth work. In a similar vein is B-side, “Take Me”, bridging brooding lyricism with broken beats, warped stabs, whirling instrumentation and wobbling bass.

The Erised are a unique collective made up of drum & bass producers Detail and Hidden Element, instrumentalists derived from jazz, rock and pop backgrounds and dancer turned singer/songwriter Sonya; all together making an unstoppable combination.

As the sister label of esteemed imprint Hospital Records, Med School are better known for exploring the experimental avenues of drum & bass but made an exciting move, signing the band at the back end of 2014.  Their refreshing and riveting electronic sounds are something that can not be ignored.

Following on from the huge success of Compute Riddim w/ Killa P & Badness we had to get 9TRANE back on board for 1FGRM002 with his newest track for us entitled ‘Assault’.

Since his last release with us in June 2017 he’s continued to supply DJ’s with the heat with further plays across Radar Radio, BBC 1Xtra & Reprezent Radio. The Norwich producer has also had another release entitled ‘Skeleton’ on the south coast’s critically acclaimed Southpoint. Having performed at one of the largest underground festivals of 2017, ‘Trajections Festival’ (Bristol) he heated up the dance for the likes of Jammz, Big Zuu & Jack Dat which lead to further bookings back home alongside Champion & Murlo. He also joined us for the 1st time in Leeds at our takeover for UP4 at Mint Warehouse in November.

The start of 2018 see’s 9TRANE back in the 1Forty realms despite recently discovering his love for UK Funky which you may see also on the Label later this year..

As one of the most exciting and 'different' labels to come out of the bustling south coast scene in the last year, the taste-making Dissident Sound crew have proved, across a plethora of releases, that they've got quite the penchant for delivering groundbreaking, dark bass-influenced music. Whether it be Breaks, Techno, Grime (and its weightless variation) or selected slithers of UK Bass, DS has become one of our favourite labels of recent times. Simply put, they release music from artists they really dig, and music they themselves hold a passion for.

Up next on the label is Bristol-based wizard Hedchef, with man-of-the-moment 9Trane on remix duties alongside Xantrax. Again showing his versatile production prowess that's been so powerful and sought after over the last year, the Trane shows no sign of slowing down. His remix of 'Transparency Illusion' translates the OG version into a slightly more dancefloor-friendly cut, utilising a really catchy, rave-influenced synth on the b-line, whilst retaining the darkness and fleeting percs of the original. Masterpiece.

MTNM 008 continues the story from the previous release; the story of the "Incident 2315/2" as the Hadden-YES military sector examines the cocoon retrieved from the hangar on earth. One of the soldiers had a mysterious conversation with the entity. Upon dissection through several EMP-safe hangars, they come across a discovery that forces them to evacuate the area carrying the bizarre find.

Following the release of his brilliant debut album on Ant TC1’s seminal Dispatch Recordings imprint, Italian mastermind Dabs has personally curated a fresh, energised take on the ‘Wormatic’ LP, which firmly stated its case as one of the finest sonic odysseys of 2019. Now, he utilises that collective, widespread network to bring together one of our favourite, most varied remix EP’s of the year, handpicking messers HLZ, Nymfo, Hybris, Kyrist and Kiril from the Dispatch roster to make their mark on a selection of carefully selected ‘Wormatic’ cuts, as well as bringing through his own extended mix of the stellar ‘Martini’, the latter of which we’ve had the pleasure of premiering for you today.

Originally arriving in the format of a jazzy, funk-inspired interlude on the original LP, ‘Martini’ captured hearts and minds with its playful, meandering live instrumentation and rustic, Italia-aesthetic. Now, all freshly updated and reworked, Dabs has switched things up, setting the pace with a brand new, full-length remix that draws for a number of pinpoint new elements, whilst retaining all the wonderful groove of the original.

'Ithaca' is a five track EP structured around a 20 year voyage, and 'Departure' is the first track on the EP that sets off the journey. The EP was written in multiple sessions in San Francisco and LA over a time span of eight years. It is quite dark in tone, but I think it also shows clearly that we had a lot of fun writing this material, obsessing over sounds, melodies and mixing synthetic, organic, orchestral and vocal textures (mostly our own vocals!)
