Coming off of contributions to VA releases on Suzie (Cleveland’s fresh faced label), From A Lost Place, and an EP early last year on De Lichting, Queniv is entering 2022 as part of Mirror Tapes Worldwide. Spanning the globe, the aptly named compilation is the first in a series of releases on Melbourne based DJ, and producer Citizen Maze’s new Mirror Tapes label.

Much like the name implies, ‘In The Midst’ embodies those hazy moments where sharp edges are lost, time seems to warp, shifting right before your very eyes. The drums coalesce for the briefest of windows before lapsing back into an esoteric beat. All the while soothing melodic breezes shift around your head providing a respite against the onslaught of what lies ahead.

In The Midst, along with the rest of Mirror Tapes Worldwide will be released on Bandcamp on the 25th of January.

Accents Records returns, for its ACCENTAPE series, with a split EP between Faintface and Abu Ama. This series focuses on the introduction of emerging artists, offering them to share their very own vision on original opuses, without any compromise.
 
On this matter, ACCENTAPE006 particularly stands out. With its extreme weather, forecasting the largest amplitudes of temperature, this is one of our most radical releases yet. Featuring both the glacial and melancholic fogs of Faintface and the warm trippy oriental dubs of Abu Ama, this record oscillates between red and blue, ice and fire, ambient minimalism and sound-system aesthetics. From snowy plains to sandy dunes, and obviously from day to night, and all the way back, leap into the void, let yourself balance over the tensions and contrasts of this unusual musical union.

Today we are proudly welcoming Timnah Sommerfeldt from Basel with her signature approach to earthy dance music. We have been following her work since long before the Warning times so it's an honor to have her on the mix series with a 68min trip through Breakbeats, Dub Techno and Trance. Selected and mixed with the type of skill one only achieves by years of dedication and experience. So young DJs out there, sit down, listen and learn how it's done. But in first place, enjoy this wonderful example of emotional story telling.
