Continuing the animix series this week is one of the most passionate and talented musicians I know. Max Santilli ( @maxsant ) is a musical chameleon with an incredibly deep and diverse knowledge of music. One half of the Eora/ Sydney duo @angophora , and an avid record collector,  
max has released a beautiful range of releases under the duo and his solo project. 

The warm qualities that shine through in maxes music are reflective of his deeply humble character, and his music never fails to blow me away - beautifully tranquil and always unique.

“I heard 'Orbital - Halcyon + On + On' when I was 8 or so; started writing tunes on a PC at 13; in my 30s now and still very interested in techno music!”

Lnrdcroy is a DJ and producer from Canada. Who has released a beautiful album on 1080p, then he put some music on L.P.C. , Forbidden Planet, Unthank, Firecracker Recordings and Mood Hut. At the moment he is working on new EPs, stay tuned!

About the mix:

 When I was recording, it was raining heavily outside but the sky was a golden-grey colour as the sun kept breaking through the clouds. A very beautiful light. I read that this is called a sunshower but many folk traditions around the world share strikingly similar metaphors for it: "a jackal's wedding", "foxes' wedding" "devil's bride, "a wolf's marriage", etc. Curious!

Expect a mix of ambient techno and IDM sounds <3

Standards & Practices Mix Series — Ken Meier

Introducing: Malo Z & Emma Caers. Both are up and coming selectors coming straight out the local Belgian scene. Originally from Leuven, but kicking it about in Brussels and its surroundings, both have been good friends for a while now, but only managed to play together for the first time courtesy of our 23rd Hot Series. Meeting the Hotbox crew at Klub Dramatik last year, Malo Z has been on our list for some time now and we’re happy he brought along Emma with him to strengthen the grooves. 

The only thing they agreed upon before starting the recording, was to record a loooong mix. Just like the HOTBOX, the duo shares a deep affection for downtempo music and house rhythms that make you move your feet; they opted to do exactly that. A lovely mash of blissful sounds, cute melodies, enchanting rhythms and ethereal vocals fill the mix from start to finish. “It’s a little bit folk-y, feminine, tribal, with a slower start working up to some dance rhythms.” Catch Emma Caers this summer at the coolest festival in town: Doel Festival, where she’ll open the famous Garage Box.
