Splits is a new series of releases from OO Recordings that focuses on connecting two artistic minds into one split release.

The first installment is a Nordic affair with Iceland's Jónbjörn on the A-side and Finland's Torolf Stendik on the B-side. Though stylistically operating in different shades of electronic music, both artists share a knack for relentless experimentation, ingenious use of their chosen array of sounds, and Nordic quirks that are hard to put a finger on. The release spans a spectrum of glitchy experimental with hints of IDM and minimalistic techno with industrial twists on the A-side, whereas the B-Side combines slower, downtempo-ish tracks with deeper house cuts with acid tips.

Having been fans of both artists for years, we're more than thrilled to present to You the meeting between two mind-bending talents. The release is mastered by Noah Kin.

Gunfinger Food - 21-Aug-21

Flávio Albin aka @albindj lived surrounded by music his entire life. A multi instrumentalist, he started producing parties and contributing to the scene since 2011. He collaborated and played with Brazilian collectives such as MASTERplano, 1010, Arrurca and Goma Rec.

Head of record label Yellow Island Records, which was founded in 2018 where he has gained prominence for his achievements. As a curator has discovered numerous successful artists in their early career that had released in the label such as Norus, Etari, Kessle and Moodrich.

Albin has been a resident at Balamii Radio and Internet Public Radio for over a yea, where he delivers monthly shows. He also regularly appears on Rinse France.

Jane Olsen is a DJ who hails from Christchurch, has lived in Amsterdam, and now calls Auckland home. She has an effervescent style that is inspired by a range of genres, artists and dancefloors. It is this breadth of taste that led her to set up the ‘Parks & Rec’ mix series, which focuses on easy tunes intended for the sunshine, the park or the picnic rug. For this broadcast, she unleashes some of her pent up energy driven by the limbo of lockdown.
