This song is rather long. After all, it's also about a very long journey. We know that not everybody like long songs. We have an excerpt of this song in a completely different version with only guitar accompaniment. That would be the short alternative. This song was written by Steve on the acoustic guitar. He passed it along to Ken, who added a sturdy rhythm acoustic guitar, as well as his always solid, dynamic drums to it. In short order, Ken got the rest of the Eclectic Collective together on it, starting with Josh, who added his five string fretless bass to complete the rhythm section. Next up was JJ, who's keys, both organ and piano, can be heard livening the whole thing up. Then came Tez with his fiery ripping guitar fills. 
  We were all blown away, though, when Stephen added his equally ripping guitar fills as responses to Tez's parts. It really sounds like the two maestros are having a conversation. Not to be outdone, Chris sprinkled some of his magical guitar to fill in the spaces, mostly at the beginning. 
  Of course, we needed a competent producer to pull the whole thing together for us, especially with all the different voices in the stew. That person was Stephen, who was able to wrangle all of us and make it sound coherent, like the expert producer he is. 
  We all really enjoy working on Steve's songs, although it's been a few months since we did one together.  It's been proven many times before that if,you start out with something good, and you end up with some thing great. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.

This song is based on poetry by my aunt Pat.  Here is her original poem:

Pleasing Breeze
(2014)

A gentle breeze
Is blowing by just to please.

It seems to tickle the leaves
In the trees.
They seem to be dancing
In this gentle breeze.

Just peeking over the horizon
Was the bright shining sun.

The birds in the air are joyfully
Chirping and having such fun.

The grass is deep green
And the colorful flowers
Add a special beauty
To the serene scene.

As the gentle breeze
Is blowing by just to please.

Pat Brandstetter is my aunt.

This is the first song I have ever written that uses only one chord G7.  In different places I emphasize different notes in the G7 chord.  But all chords use one or more of these notes G B D and F.  In the chorus I emphasize the F (7th) and the D (5th).  The verse [place more emphasis on the root (G) and the third (B).

When I did it I thought I should do a song with one chord.  It seemed like a daunting task.  I thought there is no way song with one chord can be any good.  Then I played “Chain of Fools” by Aretha Franklin.  It is basically a one chord song.  I thought this can be done.  Here it is.  What do you think?+
