One of my favorite things about December is its Geminid meteor showers. Unfortunately I missed this year's showers, but I have experienced meteors up close from a mountaintop as speeding balls of light whooshed by — they sang a hissing hum as they flew within a thousand yards overhead. Through a cloudy mist I saw spectacular white fireballs ranging in size from that of lemons to as big as footballs 😃

The Geminid meteor showers originate from the asteroid 3200 Phaethon. According to the American Meteor Society, “Geminids are often bright and intensely colored. Due to their medium-slow velocity, persistent trains are not usually seen.” They travel at a medium speed of 35 km/second ☄️🫨

A Jackson College announcement for a December 13, 2025, Geminids Watch Party described the occasion as “one of the most active and reliable annual meteor showers, producing up to 120 bright, fast meteors per hour under ideal conditions. First observed in the mid-1800s with just a handful of meteors per hour, the Geminids have grown into a major celestial event known for their vibrant yellow streaks lighting up the winter sky.” 🎇

My take. on this song.......From Nick's debut album Five Leaves Leaves.  "Way to Blue" is about a desperate search for guidance, meaning, and a way to live fully, using "blue" as a symbol for enlightenment or clarity, contrasting with the darkness of despair, as Drake asks others (or his own inner self) for wisdom on finding purpose and connection, grappling with life's expectations versus genuine feeling, and the struggle between day (light/joy) and night (sadness). It reflects his introspective nature, questioning how to live a good life amidst internal struggles and societal pressures, even while acknowledging beauty in the world."
