Many Bloodmoons ago, long ago in a world without the spicy cough.

The Journey & Doppel got together in the studio with the intention of birthing an EP.

With much mutual respect for each other’s previous musical output the outcome was always going to be an interesting fusion of sound.

After some back and forth, this two track EP ‘Rusted Tongue’ was born. After a busy summer of shows for both artists, Rusted Tongue and Oil For The Machine have been tried and tested on countless dance floors around the country from the dark late night club nights to the dusty festival dancefloors in the bush.

German wunderkind Tim Engelhardt takes his seat at the knights table once again on remix duties and as always delivers finesse and class in his production is showcased with this driving mix of Rusted Tongue.......one certainly to one to have on the stick.

A year on since its conception, the time has come for the world to witness “Rusted Tongue”

Open Records is a techno, house and electronica imprint based out of the sunny state of Queensland, Australia. Founded in the lush tropical paradise of Cairns in 2007 and now managed out of the bustling metropolis of Brisbane, Open has grown into a respected and prolific label with more than 70 releases from artists in all corners of the globe.

The Open sound is just that. Over the years we have released everything from deep, organic, progressive and tech house, to staunch minimal, hypnotic tribal, driving techno and abstract electronica. What has remained constant is our desire to represent the intelligent, groovy, dancefloor-oriented sound of the Australian festival and party culture, with a little help from our friends around the world, too.

Along the way we've managed to top the Beatport charts, featured in the playlists of some of the world's biggest DJs and radio shows and helped launch the career of some of Australia's most talented artists. Not bad for a crazy idea hatched in a small city in regional Australia! Big respect to everyone who has supported us on our journey, we wouldn't be where we are today without you.
