Closing DJ set @ Radiate, Calgary - June 15, 2024

OpenEnd is the alias and creative project of multidisciplinary artist Reece Anderson (he/him), a producer, DJ, designer, and curator with over 15 years of contributions to scenes in and around Calgary, AB (Treaty 7 Territory) and the Sunshine Coast, BC (shíshálh, skwxwú7mesh, Tla’amin, and Klahoose Nations). 

Drawing from both sides of the Atlantic, his sound explores the space between organic and synthetic rhythms. Fusing themes of d&b, half-step, autonomic, techno and breaks into immersive atmospheres. In addition to performing at notable events like Bass Coast, Shambhala, Sled Island, AEMCON, his productions have received backing from musicians like dBridge, Om Unit, and Sun People.

He fell in love with the strange and happy world of Psytrance Party and started his Dark Progressive DJ career in November 2020.
 He likes encouraging boogies and positive sounds, and his play style is conscious of not letting the audience get bored with kicks and bass development.

 In addition, he visited rave in various places and received a lot of inspiration, and in December 2020, he held a secret party "Magic hour" with his friends.
 He also started his career as an organizer.
 He is pursuing the happiest party with his Magic hour buddies.

Been Signed to Australian Label Another Psyde Records in 2022.
He is further expanding the scope of his activities.

In April 2024, the first Dark Progressive compilation album "Active Magic" was released in Japan.
He is also currently working on his second compilation album, scheduled for completion in 2023.

In 2023, he founded his own label, Magichour Recordings, with his friends.

Psytrance Partyの奇妙でハッピーな世界にハマり、2020年11月にDark Progressive DJのキャリアをスタート。
踊りやすくてポジティブなサウンドを好み、キックやベースの展開でオーディエンスを飽きさせない事を意識したプレイスタイル。

また、各地のレイヴに足を運び沢山の刺激を受け、2020年12月仲間と共にシークレットパーティ「Magic hour」を開催。
オーガナイザーとしてのキャリアもスタートさせる。
Magic hourの仲間と最高にハッピーなパーティを追求している。

2022年1月にオーストラリアのレーベルAnother Psyde Recordsに加入。
更に活動の幅を広げている。

2023年4月に日本初のDark Progressive のコンピレーションアルバム『Active Magic』を発売。
また、現在2作目のコンピレーションアルバムを製作中。2024年完成予定。

2023年仲間と共に自身のレーベルMagichour Recordingsを設立。
