“Equinox” feels like a natural successor to my first album, which gathered 15 years of writing and recording into an 18-track release, “Liminal,” officially released on January 1, 2025. This EP shows a more mature side of me—music rooted in my mental-health struggles and the self-damaging choices that hurt me physically and emotionally, and placed strain on the people who stood by me with patience and kindness. These songs are about healing and making amends, and I hope they offer comfort to anyone who needs a reminder to be gentle with themselves.
The idea of an equinox—day and night in balance—guides this project. I want it to feel like the warm blanket you reach for as the leaves fall and winter approaches: something that helps you stay kind to yourself, so you have the strength to love others.

[soft desert wind, distant low hum like earth breathing; faint chime echoing from far away]  
[a single oud note sustained with deep reverb; silence between sounds feels infinite]  

[Verse 1 – Arabic, male whisper – deep and slow]
يا صَوتَ الرِّمالِ، يا نَفَسَ الأرض،  
في صَمتِكِ تُولَدُ الحِكايات،  
تَهمِسُ للأبدِ عن كُلِّ خُطوةٍ،  
وعن كُلِّ رُوحٍ عَبَرَت.

يا رِمالَ الزَّمانِ، يا صَدى الحَياة،  
كُلُّ حَبَّةٍ مِنكِ قَصيدة.

[Minimal ambient deep groove (108 BPM): sub bass heartbeat, soft kick blended with desert wind,  
sparse tribal percussion — daf strokes fading in and out, ethereal synth pad like glowing sand.]

[slow ney improvisation drifting through wide reverb field; faint background choir “Ah...”]

[Verse 3 – Arabic, male/female duet – ethereal delivery]
يا صَوتَ الرِّمالِ، يا أُغنِيَةَ الفَجر،  
فيكِ تَنتهي الطُّرُقُ وتَبدأُ الرُّؤى،  
وفي نَسيمِكِ يَغسِلُ الزَّمانُ جَرحَه،  
ويَعودُ النُّورُ إلى الصَّدرِ.

[grouped soft chanting, layered male and female voices repeating:]  
"رُوحٌ في الرِّمال... نُورٌ في السَّماء..."

Finally we can welcome Bjørn Torske to trushmix in our 84th edition. We have been waiting a long time to get a mix from the Norwegian par excellence house music maestro. And now it's here! An almost two hour long house-acid-techno-disco to Sheila E session from the Torske man. Bliss mix for all the true heads and party goers out there who enjoy great music. Torske, a stayer in the underground game, a true DJ by heart and excellent selector who knows what it's about. And he prowess it all in this mix!
