As social distancing measures were being lifted in New York following 15 months of closure, we were lucky enough to get together with Dweller for an extra special Juneteenth and re-opening celebration. Our next live recording comes from that weekend courtesy of Discwoman party-starting professional, SHYBOI.   Across an epic two hours she burned through turbocharged techno, kaleidoscopic breakbeat and raw, freaky, rave euphoria.

Gag Reflex is like a dream. No, better, cause dreams aren't absolutely perfect and don't smell nice. So yeah, she's like... heaven personified! Hyper talented (like, hyper hyper); funny af, v v kind, extremely cute, brave.. the list goes on. this seattle bb works hard for her community, not only by being a lovely friend but also by throwing her transfeminist bloom nights and DJing like a hurricane of perfection for the benefit of the realest ravers and misfits. i've been lucky enough to hang out with her and some of her lovely crew in seattle and felt right at home with them. oh lawd i also smoked some weed there that knocked me out but Odessa was right my by side in the club while i snored with my mouth open, protecting me from outside threats lol! anyway - if you haven't yet, you should listen to her naivety EP 'The Fae' and her track on the naive comp cause you'll get an idea of how much of an incredible artist wer're talking about here (more things to come!). this naivetape is a prime example of why she is so good, mixing raucous rave inspiration with elegant techno, acid of the highest order, electro and some delicious club weirdness for good measure. i just.... i just wished we lived in the same city. but at least i'm lucky enough that we exist at the same time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ that's my consolation prize.
