JOEY M. (Denver House Authority / Denver)

Joey M’s DJ career started in 1997, and since then he has made a name and a reputation for himself as one of the best house DJs Colorado has to offer. Joey’s musical style has always been true to house from day one. He has held residencies at several of Denver’s most prominent nightclubs including Beta, The Beatport Lounge, Vinyl, Bar Standard, The Church and Funky Buddha, as well as throwing underground warehouse events and playing larger scale festivals. Joey M is part of Denver House Authority, a production company started in 2007 with partners Isaac H. and Brandon Bass.

Digging deep into his catalog of music to blend old and new deep house, house and tech house, this mix is a fun ride (and perfect example of his DJ sets) that Joey put together especially for Deep Club.

Back in February Piñata brought Moonchild to play a show at La Nau in Barcelona, and we joined the band backstage to record a special episode of From The Source, in which the band go through some of their favourite music and influences.

Alternative R&B trio Moonchild are known for their spaced-out, Soulquarian-inspired grooves and the wispy, at-ease vocals of Amber Navran. The band's line-up consists of Navran (also a clarinettist and saxophonist) with fellow multi-instrumentalists Max Bryk (keyboards, saxophone, clarinet) and Andris Mattson (keyboards, trumpet, flügelhorn).

	When you find yourself in times like these, sometimes you look inside, -What Does Your Soul Look Like Part 2?- Sometimes, unexpectedly you find yourself, -A Drifting Down-. -Hold On, Be Strong-, you tell yourself over and over again. Coming to rest at -Hotel Exile- all alone. Before slipping into sleep a single question comes floating by, -When Does it End?-
	I dream, at least I think it is a dream of -Windom Earle-. We are sitting in the hotel lobby. He is telling me a story of -Mermaid Blues-, it turns out he is really solving a mystery, -Laura Palmer Explained-. He then goes on to tell me I must evolve from -Boyz 2 Men-. As I try and respond, he looks me right in the eye and says, -I Will Never Let you Alone-. As the dream dissipates like fog in the sun I see, -Op. 3-, float by.
	I am -Unconscious-, yet I perceive and feel something inside myself that tells me there is -Chaos in the Cosmos-. I can see it clearly with the -Eyes of my Mind-. I can see clearly, -The Spirit- within. -Punch Up-, this can’t go on forever.
