Tatsuoki (Broad | Undulate | Japan)

He started his DJ career in 2011. He considers his music as an object in three dimensions. He always has his own logical thinking and emphasizes deep sounds includes Techno. He plays quality genre-less music which is the best match with the dance floor and his play style gets evaluation. Today he became one of the most promising DJs in the scene. Tatsuoki launched his own party Broad at Daikanyama AIR in November 2012 which is regularly held at Contact today, and it has been successful every time with the style of welcoming artists from diverse fields, from domestic to international. Tatsuoki released his podcast from Dino Sabatini’s Outis Music in Italy in March 2016, from Vitamin Cubes in Eastern Europe Georgia in 2017, and also from Germany and Korea in 2018. He is continuously showing his further success.

Dilemma Podcast 062 Giorgio Gigli from Rome (Italy). After a deep exploration of several kinds of electronic dance music, in a broad evolutionary path, Giorgio Gigli’s music has assumed an intense and personal form of communication.
The modules emerging from his compositions run across a process where moods are transformed into waves, layers and substrates that are ready to catch and overwhelm the listener without changing original content.

His skill is to transmit an accurate signal using undiscovered frequencies inspired by desolate and noir tinged landscapes. Giorgio transforms his material. Voids, pitfalls, drones and dilated melodies become intricate, sophisticated, and hypnotic rhythmic equipment that runs the risk of constantly changing classicist techno aesthetics in a conceptual derivation close to his soul.

Giorgio loves ambient music that dues to its descriptive power allows him to analyze and render every vibration and vision, both during production and his long dj sets, where he explores empty rooms that are filled with vintage recordings, ethereal drones and field sonority. This particular working method is also reflected in his harder sets, where rhythm increases tension while it is moving forward unchallenged through industrial echoes, robotic tricks and building grooves that produce shaped variations of his meaning. Substance thickens to provide a thoughtful and reflexive listening experience.

All these elements are poured into his project “Zooloft Records”, the platform that represent him in a past few years. Now his techno vision involved into new collaborative projects with Speedy J’s Electric Deluxe and Perc (“Endless” project). Starting from 2011 the collaboration with Electric Deluxe has established an intense relationship ferrying his DJ set in a new dimension where it combines an industrial/dark approach with a solid stream techno club-oriented

Aimée Portioli also known as Grand River, is a Dutch-Italian composer, musician, producer based in Berlin. 

While mainly connected to the fields of electronic music and sound design, her compositions transcend these genres. Her background counts years of traditional music composing and the study of several musical instruments. 

She worked as sound engineer and composer for a national radio station in Italy (Radio 24) and for several post production companies through her sound agency TapTempo studio. Her work is known equally for her film scores as for her experimental and ambient projects. Influenced by classical minimal music Grand River’s work integrates a large variety of sound structures and symphonic calculations, often blurring the lines between traditional composition and research-based modernism. 

In 2016 she created One Instrument releasing sound experiments from different artists composing pieces by using only one instrument of their choice.

Grand River 라고도 알려진 Aimée Portioli 는 네덜란드-이태리계 작곡가이자 뮤지션, 프로듀서 이며 현재 베를린을 근거지로 활동하고 있다.

전자음악과 사운드 디자인분야에 중점을 두고 있는 그녀의 작품들은, 이 두 분야를 초월하는 경지에 이르기까지 한다. 그녀의 음악적 배경이라하면 긴 시간동안의 전통음악 작곡, 다양한 여러 악기를 배워온 것을 얘기해볼 수 있을 것이다.

Grand River 는 이탈리아 라디오 방송국인 Radio 24 에서 사운드 엔지니어로 근무하였으며, 사운드 에이전시 TapTempo Studio 를 통해 여러 후반 음향작업 회사의 일도 진행하였다. 그녀의 영화 음악처럼, 그녀의 작품세계 또한 익스페리멘탈과 엠비언트 프로젝트로서 알려져 있다. 클래식 미니멀 음악에 영향을 받은 Grand River 의 작업물은 다양하고 넓은 스팩트럼의 음악적 구조, 음들의 조화를 통합해 낸다. 
이는 때로 적통적 작곡요소와 체계적인 현대음악의 사이의 경계를 허물곤 한다.

2016년 그녀는 다양한 아티스트들로 구성되어 오로지 그들이 선택한 “한 가지” 악기를 통해서만 작곡을 해내는 사운드적 실험 “One Instrument” 를 진행하였다.

A core member of the Harmony Rec. crew, Yan has been digging for deeper and dubby techno since 2014 and has become one of the finest in his craft. Together with his closest pal Alfred Czital he is a resident of the Yuggadus night – the sort of an extension of the sound and activities they are devoted to with Harmony. Whether he draws from organic techno, rich minimal or let’s his housy side speak, his emphasis on the groove earned him a steady supply of peak time bookings and growing number of international invites. Yan’s secret power lies in closing sets, he’s able to make endings feel like new beginnings.

For Re:Search number 22 we presents s.ra, a resident from Institut für Zukunft in Leipzig, Germany.
Furthermore she's part of the crew behind the Sunday afternoon series Rillendisco. Her sound ranges somewhere between deep melodic Techno and Acid, as long as there's a rolling bassline.

'Like most of my podcasts, this one was created rather intuitively in
one-take style after a somewhat longer night. Even if that means that
there are usually a few slip-ups in it, I prefer to record podcasts this
way cause then I'm relaxed enough to let myself drift and just enjoy the

The last one of 2020

As we recall back over 2020, we try to recuperate from angst, agony, and chaos – all undoubtedly present. However, it is easy to take a step back and revisit this year's timeline as one story brimful of fearlessness, empathy, heroism, and accomplishment. Even if we have to work a bit harder to hold this story in our minds, it is every bit as true. 

This time of the year has always been demanding, at least for most of us. Wishing things to be something else rather than what they genuinely are can make us feel worse. Wanting or even expecting this season to suddenly bring an end to quarantine, insomniac nights, inequalities, social tensions, and natural disasters are far from a quick fix. Sadly, December doesn’t come with a magic wand to make things instantly and promptly better. Reality sits here and waits for us to notice it. Most importantly, it challenges us to work and act on it, even if we believe that no amount of misdirection or distraction can change that.

This year, we are delighted to end our audio diaries with a podcast recorded live in Poland by the 22-year-old Jan - a producer known more widely in the music environment, under the pseudonym Raroh. Based in Warsaw, @raaroh is a live performer, whose artistry is deeply rooted in ambient, trancey, and somewhat intensive techno. 

In 2018, he released his first 12" vinyl split record with Głós on Unknown Timeline Records entitled “The Perfect Moment In Time-Space Continuum”. He has notable contributions of dark ambient tracks on series like “One Instrument” and “The Book Of Electronic Music”, the latter being released on Delayed Arrivals Records. His first solo EP called “Across The Sea Of Light” was released on Unknown Timeline Records, while his newest track “Storming Near the Baltic” comes off the new V/A on Crescent London. Full of ambient textures, dub elements, drones, and groovy hypnosis, Raroh most certainly, displays a new view of contemporary electronic music.

We hope that our last 2020 audio diary is a flawless gift for everyone who has supported us along the way of this unprecedented roller-coaster ride. So, even if you are one of the many whose festive season doesn't feel right, even if you find yourself tired from travel bans, lockdowns, quarantine, and restrictions because these initially do not fit in the holiday season, can you allow yourself to accept how things currently are? How does this moment feel? Are you warm? Are you hungry or full? Do you miss someone? Does the floor support your feet? Can you feel them lifting you from the ground? 

We believe you will find the answers. After all, gratitude moves us towards acceptance of the present. 
We wish you safety, freedom from hostility, and above all surplus of health.
