Tom Dicicco is a renowned electronic music producer and DJ, known for his deep and atmospheric techno sound. He has made significant contributions to the techno scene with releases on respected labels such as Delsin, M>O>S Recordings, Jordan GCZ's Off Minor, and Anthony Parasole’s The Corner.

Throughout his career, Dicicco has collaborated with notable artists like Fred P, Luke Hess, Dario Zenker and Skudge, and has appeared alongside them on VA releases.

More recently, Tom has been working on a new collaboration with long time friend and artist Roger 23. Recording between the UK and Germany, Tom and Roger have been amassing a collection of tracks ready for release very soon.

For Short Attention Mix 047, Tom Dicicco provides a 60-minute music selection that reflects his diverse musical taste and eclectic influences, offering a rich blend of genres beyond his usual techno sound.

We welcome the second coming of Tomas Bexton, a veteran crate digger and deep house & techno specialist from Maidstone in Kent, England. This is yet another vinyl-only session from a true master, hot on the heels of his debut for us in December last year as part of the Avenue Red Is 10... mini series (link below).

Now, let's just quickly make an observation - Tomas knows how to select and mix. There ain't no sync button, for he is the sync button. More black gold bullion from his magnificent and broad record collection heaped onto the Avenue Red deep summer house vibes 2024 bonfire! Hit it crew.

I think some spring & summer feelings were in the air with this one as once again, deep and jazzy house rule the way for the majority of the mix. I did want to change the direction at the end though with a tiny sprinkle of dub techno or the like.

Magical timing too, two hours after I finished this mix, I thought to myself: "perhaps to play Tony halfway in this mix is a nice idea"....but then an hour later Isis texts me the legend came to pass, so this coincidence makes even more sense."

My dearest San Proper! 

My close friendship and musical connection with San Proper goes back many many years. 
San is someone that is an avid reader of books in the most varied of subjects, especially music history, therefore words, poetry and writing in general are very powerful tools in this artist's personality. With that said, I can't go without writing about him from a personal perspective, as it is also in line with the design of this mix series. 

Too many amazing memories to list but here are some:  

Maybe around 2010 when he was scheduled to play live at fabric and the airline lost his luggage. It was late and I was trying to help source the gear that was missing, he messages and goes: rather than live on uncertainty I am going to work the live with what I have. It was a very limited set up, I remember walking in to Room 1 at the start of his live set then reading on the stage desk: 'FUCK YOU LUFTHANSA!'
THIS is Dr. Proper. Even with a such a limited set up he absolutely rocked this room in the best way possible. 

Other remarkable memories is that San always joined afterparties in my loft in London and he always carries a field recorder on him. Outside my house in Dalston with me and the adorable Masomenos couple, Adrian and Joan, and on the way to Kristina Records San was filed recording the sounds of the cars in Kingsland Road, hence the now widely known 'Auto Sea' track out in 2013, also part of his Animal album. 

San Proper branches the realms of artistry beyond borders, it includes being a musician, producer, dj, record and books collector, a performer, an entertainer,  an enigmatic character with a heart of gold even though the animal persona attempts to hide that, hehe.
