For our 13th Quadrasphere, we hand over to our very own Wilson who has kindly shared the recording of his set at Piccadilly Central last month! Its great to hear this side of him as his record collection not only stacked with Dub Techno and Detroit heavy tunes, but he has a wealth of more deeper Detroit house and laid back grooves which was the perfect soundtrack to this Sunday  party at one of the smartest spots in Manchester.

"This mix is a live and uncut recording of my set from Nimbus Live @ Piccadilly central (4/5/25). 
Playing earlier on in the day, on a Sunday, gave me the chance to dig into loads of the deep house and Detroit leaning house records that I love and collect a lot of, but don’t get the chance to play out a lot. 

This mix was recorded using 2 x technics 1210's, 2x CDJ 2000NSX and 1x Pioneer DJM A9"

@thelonerist is a UK-based dj/producer who specialises in dub techno and deep electronic soundscapes. Drawing inspiration from the emotive depth of Detroit techno and the atmospheric nuances of dub, Lonerist crafts tracks and dj sets that are both immersive and contemplative and weaves a sonic narrative that blurs the line between isolation and intensity. 

A @thelonerist DJ set is rooted in dub techno, ambient textures, and minimalist rhythms, crafted for introspection as much as movement. Each track is given room to breathe, with long blends and subtle transitions that blur the line between where one ends and the next begins. Expect space, depth and plenty of echo-drenched chords. For this edition, Dutch producer and sonic explorer Nadia Struiwigh delivers an envelope-pushing session, weaving through acidity, hardcore sonics, and introspective rhythms. Her hour-long set unfolds with resolute strength, weaving amens and mentasms into a hallucinatory rave world.
Observatory resident Fran Domingo takes over for the second hour, navigating a refined path through deep, propulsive broken beats, and into the cross-point of techno and dubstep.

Longhaul 046 – London Modular Alliance

For over 20 years Martin Jarl was something of an anomaly in my record collection. At the turn of the century, I was largely buying records on the likes of Deepchord, Salz, Nurture, Bluetrain & Minus THX. I'd also been following the emergence of some labels pushing the more minimal sound for a couple of years, the likes of Out to Lunch, Playhouse & Raum...musik. After the closure of Atlas in Soho I habitually shopped in Smallfish; and I remember adding Martin's Weetabix EP to the listening pile. Upon hearing it I immediately bought two copies, and for the next two decades considered it one of my 'desert island discs'. 

By 2024 both copies were hammered and full of surface noise, and what started out as a tentative ask for some wav files, turned into an opportunity to re-release a track from one of my favourite records. Frankly I could've gone for any of the four tracks. Whether Martin knew to what extent or not; including a remaster of the title track in last year's V/A compilation was a really special moment in lempuyang's journey. Naturally I also asked him if he'd be up for recording a mix for the series. Martin is anything but prolific, and good things truly come to those who wait.
