This playlist contains 2-3 sets per artist performing in Detroit at Movement 2025, with a few exceptions for acts who are djing at Movement but don't have any dj sets on Soundcloud (at least that I could find).

Sets are organized alphabetically by artist, except for b2b acts, who are included together in whatever order they appeared on the lineup. In general, I prioritized live and/or recent sets, but this isn't entirely consistent.

Doza is a Seattle-based DJ/producer who has played a seminal role in the Pacific Northwest electronic music community throughout the 21st century. A first generation Venezuelan-American born in Texas who has been based in Seattle since childhood, Doza originally made his mark on the dancefloor circuit as one-half of the production duo LawnChair Generals during the early 2000s. Although it's been nearly a decade since the last LawnChair Generals release, Doza has stayed active with solo productions and remixes, as well as co-founding Hunt & Gather Records alongside local luminaries Dave Pezzner and Michael Manahan. 20 years deep in the PNW scene, Doza continues to keep Seattle's dancefloors moving amidst all of the city's undeniable transformational changes.

Doza's exclusive guest DJ set for Midnight In A Perfect World takes the listener on a hypnotic journey through exquisite deep house grooves to create a joyful and cathartic dance party. Aired 12/06/21

ADMN - Movement Main Stage 2022

Every once in a while a small label you have no previous experience with comes along and blows you away with a release. More of a rarity however is when said independent imprint continues to blow you away on a regular basis with their following releases.  For me, Varoslav’s excellent Rue De Plaisance imprint is such an example.

Since it was it was incepted in 2011 with the release of  David K’s off kilter jazz infused ‘Somewhere In My Head’ it was clear the Czech born Parisian’s label was one that arrived to stay. A steady stream of left of centre grooves have followed with release "everything from experimental house to funked-up techno," finding its way onto vinyl since the labels inauguration. With a variety of genres on display one constant runs throughout each and every release pressed in the French capital: quality.

Thus when we had the chance to secure an exclusive vinyl only mix from label boss Varoslav himself naturally we jumped at the chance. With a busy summer ahead that sees the label touch down in Barcelona for a special exhibition during Sonar and a new summer residency at Paris institution Rex Club about to begin the future is looking brighter than ever for Varoslav and his rapidly emerging imprint. King of Kings EP is a reminiscence of a period (1980 - 1991), prior to the economic liberalization of India. A closed economy with nearly 200% tariffs or outright bans on all foreign electronic equipment’s including synthesizers, sequencers, drum machines and computers due to west’s antagonizing behavior towards India for not opening its market for foreign colonial corporate actors.

This did not deter musicians to get their hands on the machines despite all the stumbling blocks placed in front of them. Defiance and persistence gave birth to Indian acid and electro synth pop created under our own terms becoming not only father of the machines once we couldn’t own but with our playful ragas giving birth to genres such as acid house.

India thus opened another node in the global cultural flows of electronic music. Cumulatively, this period contributed to the triumph of import substitution in cultural production. An attitude was born to why import when we can make it on our own. A major shift in a mind colonised and slaved for 400 yrs.

This an honest attempt to show the world, how Indian musicians undeterred by barriers made their own mark with western synthesizers and drum machines while staying true to their ethnic identity. A period of Computer Love.

“King of Kings” which translates literally from Tamil (Rajadhi Raja) is a true endeavor to demonstrate to the world how Indian musicians have overcome racial and political boundaries to achieve their sonic mission of expressing our artistic autonomy filled with purpose, perseverance and avant-garde excitement. A musical piece that aims to represent the idea, “In order to become who you are, you need to first overcome who it is they said you are”. A true King of Kings.

Remixes come from analogue master and self-proclaimed synth fetishist, Italo Brutalo and multi-cultural musical trifinium thePhilosophica.

Not many people find the time to manage a record store, 5 labels, a flourishing DJ/Production career and general life all at once. Cinthie however, seems to take this in her stride.
