Funkyjaws Music is back with more sounds to get those mouths and asses moving. It comes from Elado, originally from Poland, and an artist with a 30-year obsession with his craft. 'Love' is a big-hearted disco pumper with jangling riffs and bluesy vocals. 'Happy Days' has a similar vocal but more raw and guttural and offset by female harmonies. 'Benko' cuts back with a more supple, sun-kissed and Balearic sound with some nimble piano work bringing plenty of spice. 'Higher' is a smoochy 80s-influenced disco sound with vibes to spare.

PREMIERE: Elado - Happy Days [Discolifting 08]

“Velvet Trigger” is a groove-forward soul-funk thriller, smooth, stylish, and soaked in 70s sophistication. With a mid-tempo swing and warm analog textures, the track glides through a world of tailored suits, crooked prayers, and smoky revelations. Tight vintage drums, melodic bass, and Rhodes keys set the scene, while funky guitars and brass stabs punctuate each twist in the story.
The lyrics unfold like a noir vignette: silver tongues, lipstick sharp, and a preacher’s kiss that seals the deal. Vocals are expressive and cinematic, with falsetto touches and rich harmonies echoing the drama. It’s romantic, playful, and dangerous in all the right ways perfect for late-night drives, velvet lounges, or anyone chasing shadows in style.

Wemoto Radio welcomes Iron Curtis & Johannes Albert!

Johannes Albert and Iron Curtis have been leading the charge at the deeper end of the German and global electronic music scene for some time now. Longterm friends, collaborators and innovators, the duo have worked together many times before, and are ready to drop their second long player, Moon II, which comes out on Frank Music in mid-June. The album is a rhythmic tour de force that embarks on a personal journey through the hallowed past of electronic music, bringing these sounds lovingly into the 21st Century and beyond. So, with the new record on the way, we were very excited to welcome them to the Wemoto stable with this excellent mix and interview.

Giango is our guest today on OpenLab Selectors. His obsession with music began with his move to London during the summer of love ’88. Producing music with a bunch of friends out of a converted WW2 air raid shelter in Fulham, they released music on Guerrilla Records as well as remixing a variety of artists such as Deep Forrest.
His musical style as a DJ was cemented with a long-running residency at 
‘Momos’ during the 00’s bringing together a love and appreciation of world music & Electronica.
You can find him playing at venues such as Spiritland in London
as well as online radio shows on Dream Chimney, Eclectics, and Balearic Social.

We're delighted to welcome Alison Swing to our mix series this week, a self-described vinyl junkie whose love of records is only outweighed by the thrill of piecing them together for dance floors, something she knows a thing or two about having curated a series of well-loved parties Dig Deeper event series in LA alongside her curator-in-crime, Masha for over five years.

Now, feeling right at home in Berlin, Alison is a resident of the esteemed Renate where she has started her own night called Uforia, which aims to put the fun back into the dance floor, exploring the wealth of global sounds and translating to dancers across the world.
