Founded by Red Axes, Garzen Records was created to be a warm and loving home, with the intention of allowing full artistic freedom on its platform, to promote the unusual over the familiar and to give hope and recognition to creators lying on the edge.

The first hour is mixed by the label itself as Garzen Soundsystem, followed by a one-hour mix by Lamusa II. This Italian producer who has released on i.a. Hivern Discs is focused on drum machine rhythms, percussions and analog/digital multi-timbral synthesisers reminiscent of late ‘80s obscure-ambient music. His forthcoming EP will be released on Garzen.

ndré Pahl (Berlin) is known for his Safari mixes—pitched down cinematic journeys through uncharted seas, forbidden deserts and distant galaxies.

His sound tends to oscillate between psychedelic trips, spaced out electronics and voodoo percussion, exploring the slowed-down heartbeat of danceable music.

He had a rendez-vous with Mexico City’s lunatic music scene while living there for some years, co-running the label “Nuevos Ricos” and starting to DJ in shady neighbourhood street parties and art happenings inside jammed subway stations.

Listening to André Pahl’s sets is like being compelled to push yourself inside a forest even though you know it'll be dangerous — head first, then the whole body, submerged deep into a strange jungle world, partly solid, partly made of shimmering liquids.

Thursday 15th of April 2016, Ecoutes au vert put up a special Tropical Party at Sameheads in Neukölln, Berlin. We were excited to welcome 3 awesome record collectors/djs from Canada, France and Switzerland, playing their first gig in Berlin. 

PHILIPPE NOEL & LES DIPLOMATES (aka MAMBO CHICK & JEAN TOUSSAINT) indeed brought the heat to Sameheads's low ceiling basement & people grooving in the bar above, playing only original 1950's to 1980's vinyls featuring the best Cumbia, Kompas, Guaracha, Gaitas, Son, Juju, Calypso, Afro-Colombian, Soukous, Afro Jazz, Sudanese music and much more... Killer melodies, heavy bass and irresistible rhythms that brought much love & smiles and got people dancing like crazy. 

This is the 2nd Part of the over 4 hours mix that was actually the 1st ever meeting of these 3 dedicated record collectors and awesome people. Prior to that, they had only exchanged about music and records via the internet. Surely, they will meet again behind the decks...
