Watching Time

We spent one of my last evenings in Valencia recording in Albert's beautiful home. 

This is a live recording of Nature Boy that I had translated to my language, Tamil (Oru Paiyan). This was taken in one take, so please keep that in mind as you listen to it.

Albert and Max are beautiful musicians and I cannot express my genuine and sincere gratitude enough.

Amy sang a cover of 500 miles by Peter Paul and Mary that I fell in love with. I tried translating it to Tamil. Alper Tuzcu on guitar. Work in progress!

Recorded very quickly with my MacBook's mic, so you will also hear guest artists such as the Florida rain, thunder, my mother's pots banging and my very loud air conditioner.

Alper wrote a beautiful song called "Guide Me Away" and he recorded it for a class-- I think he recorded this with an mbox? I could be wrong. 

Anyway, Angel had passed away the day before, so the lyrics resonated.

altitude, a composition rajna made by transcribing parts of an improvised session we had in banff one summer, with anne bourne also playing;

the beginning is from "vagabonds," a composition by rajna for which i wrote lyrics in tamil; 

"it has become truly difficult to love without getting hurt" - words from "from shadows to the stars," a composition of mine with words taken from rohith vemula's last letter to the world

"i promise there is joy in this story" -- a song that came to me when in prayer once
