First by contributing a few tracks and then releasing an EP & a sample pack on Glasgow finest "soma recods" sub-label "Avoidant". With experience in DJing/Production of 20years+ he has sharpened his production and djing skills perfectly. Our next podcast guest does not even need an introduction, meaning, if you know you know, that @Plant43 is a living legend within the musical world.

Inspired by Kraftwerk in the early 80′s Emile Facey was hooked on electro from an early age.

In 1998 he got involved with promoting electro events in London and soon after started writing music as Plant43. His first vinyl release came in 2006 on the much-missed Ai Records. Several 12’s and the well-received “Burning Decay” album in 2010 alongside other releases on Semantica Records, AC Records (acidlab.de), Bleep43 Recordings and Cultivated Electronics have highlighted his singular and ambiguous style of sinewy electro that draws deep from the influence of Drexciya. Emile is also graphic designer and co-founder of bleep43.com, which is dedicated to promoting and reviewing electronic music. Since 2003, the London based Bleep43 parties have seen him play live alongside such acts as ERP, DJ Stingray, Surgeon, $tinkworx, Microthol, Urban Tribe and many more.

Electrix is a sister label of the Techno label @torturedrecords and is more experimental in nature releasing a mixture of dancefloor-friendly Electro, inspired by the sounds of Miami, Detroit, and those deep and dubby releases by the hugely influential @basicchannelofficial - The label, originally started in 2000, and was famed for getting Techno producers like Cari Lekebusch, Umek, Phil Kieran and Chris McCormack on the Electro tip but also for releasing quality releases from the likes of Dynarec, Mr. Velcro Fastener, Scape One, Sync 24, Transparent Sound, Max Durante, Carl Finlow, Keith Tucker, and more.

HÖR x Mechatronica: Poly Chain b2b DJ MELL G (27-09-2023)

Earth-shattering techno and intricate textures make up the delicate yet impactful sound of Alienata. The Spanish-born, Berlin-based artist is a self-described “sound obsessive” whose influences span anything from electro, ACID, dub, IDM, dark disco, techno, industrial atmospheres, and strains of sounds from both Detroit and Chicago. As founder of Discos Atónicos, she’s been able to platform and materialise her own influences, sharing music and making a mark.

With an approach to music that often leans towards alternative shades of techno, adding a blend of acid, electro, and old-school vibes, to traditional hard-hitting aspects, Alienata straddles high-calibre artistry, reminding us that techno can be complex, as well as wonderful loud and unignorable - and it's the nuance, and attention to detail, that often makes the most impact.

Ahead of Alienata’s return to the club this weekend (2nd-3rd December), she swoops in for the next edition of our mix series. Episode 027 is a breath of fresh air. That being said, it's a journey that is already taking us mentally into the dark, comforting, audio sanctuary that is our own Room 2 – where you’ll find Alienata smashing out her signature style for a special B2B set with Neighbourhood founder and club regular Tasha during the Saturday night section of our next Continuum.

Strap in for a delightfully alienating journey. Warming, hypnotic techno, a driving industrial tone, and dark, obscure elements.

We're happy to welcome back LA-based producer Ole Mic Odd, this time with a full EP that crashes electro traditions into gloomy post-punk aesthetics. The result is six filthy tunes of menacing vocoders, murky pads and distorted acid that go from 2 AM clinched-teeth-madness to punishing slow burners that will bump a 64 Pontiac Lowrider.

Michael Padgett is a West Coast hardware electro wizard who runs The New U.S. Government (label) and has released lots of funky electro dirt on labels such as Kraftjerkz, Zement and Source Material. He returns to Kri Records after contributing to our compilation Trust the Rust Vol.1.

Exactly one year after my 2022 release entitled 'Agitation Propaganda', I return with a collection of new tracks that were produced between the middle of 2022 and early 2023. This 20-track album, as the title suggests, is a tribute to the love affair that I have with making music. In 2023 I celebrate my 40th birthday so I thought it was good timing to release a concept album that pays homage to the one true love that I've ever known- Synthesis ♥️

This album, as with the last, relies heavily on the sounds of classic synthesizers/drum machines like Mono/Poly, MS-20, SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, SH-2, JX-8P, System 100, Juno 60, JX-3P, TB-303, Polysix, TR-606, OB-8, TR-808, ARP Odyssey, as well as some contemporary additions to my studio like Hydrasynth, System 8, MC-707, MicroFreak, Prophet Rev2, Novation Peak, Minilogue, SE-02, and Microkorg.

The artwork for the album was done by the brilliant artist Kelly Gilleran, who also just so happens to be my long-term girlfriend. She is a pattern designer, painter, and illustrator. Her work can be found here: www.kellygilleran.redbubble.com/

And we continue with a new mix. This time from electro legend Naks straight into your nervous system. He is the co-founder of Vortex Trax and together with Lazercat he runs the former party series and radio show on Intergalactic FM called Dreams of Neon.
When it comes to electro, he is the safest bet, equipped with records and experience spanning at least two decades and an unmistakable feel for the dancefloor but also for building multi-layered sound structures. This was the case at our last party in October 2024, when he and lazercat had to play for two hours longer because the crowd wouldn't let them go, or as you can hear in this mix, which shows just how wide-ranging electro is.

Urban Distortions is very proud to announce the new album from Slaker “The Transition”. Massimo, the founder of the label, with this album introduces the concept behind his alter ego Slaker, a fascinating sci-fi story of a cyborg included in the package (please refer to the image below). 
“The Transition” is an 8 tracks project with electro influences spiced with futuristic melodies and dark soundscapes, which comes out from Massimo’s studio research, where he mix synths and drum machines hardware enhanced by analog gears to achieve an eclectic sound that is Slaker’s imprint. 
The album includes Quite Unstable, taken from the VA “Napoli Underground files v.01” in extended version, which has got the support of well-known artist such as: G-man (LFO), Ilectrolab, and Ryan Phillips (Code Rising). 

“The Transition” will be released the 19th of February 2018, in limited and numbered red CD in vinyl style.
