Viclan https://soundcloud.com/siege_underground is a project from Calvin Whittaker, previously releasing under the aliases Siege and CWS. 

He has released his own productions on the legendary R&S Records label as well as Lowering The Tone and an album coming out on MORD in the near future.

When I first listened to Viclan's mix for the R&S label mix series, I was blown away by the quality of the mix, so am delighted that I can include him as a guest in the WM mix series.

Jin Synth is a Taiwanese sound designer, producer, and DJ whose name has been a long-time fixture in the London scene. Her artistic delivery is characterised by ambience, experimentation, and a never-settling nature.

This four-track project on Italian label KR3 marks five years around the sun for the label and showcases the distinct yet complementary visions of Jin and Marco Maldarella, and mastered by Peter Van Hoesen. A recipe for success? We think so. "From many strange places and by many strange roads" is the label's message to us on Bandcamp, and this EP ‘The Neural Abyss’ facilitates a new place to explore.

When first attempting to describe this track, I immediately felt it was a calling - a cry for communion, a summons to meet, a pull towards something unfamiliar, somewhere to unravel and understand more, perhaps from within a snowy mountain range? I hadn't yet noticed the title, but it makes complete sense that the track is called "Signal." A signal and a calling are fundamentally similar: a message, which is precisely what this music is.

The sounds funnel us through the deep, spiralling crevices and dark corners of the mountain. The echoes are hypnotic, fuelling this journey. What Jin achieves here is the expression of a route of thought of her own, providing many paths for the listener to interpret as their own and it’s available to pre-order on vinyl and digital now and will be released on Friday 24th October on Bandcamp.

Amsterdam's Parrish Smith joins this month's first hour with a no frills, heavy hitting dj mix full of stealth dark wave and vampiric club ballads. Smith is co-founder of the infamous Burst City party with partner, Mila V, and you can hear the party's ethos translated into this mix - where genres blend and no limits constrain within the wave umbrella.

Ravetop closes out the show.
The Colombian artist and DJ, is known for that electro clash and italo disco and early EBM techno industrial vibes. With releases on Ombra INTL and upcoming on Rotten City Records, this mix is a nice soup of styles in the dark club sound.

'Los Finales de la Noche' explores different conceptual nuances of the nocturnal: From its frenetic stillness to states of psychedelic contemplation, from the fire that offers us slowly fading sound textures to the obscenity that appears in its most intimate places.

A release that pursues a more experimental sound by EL MAMU, using rhythmic patterns and abstract sound structures, with a reinterpretation by Individuo Atemporal. A journey through different colors that offers us that most magical part of our lives: the night.
