Rotterdam and Cabo Verde are deeply connected due to the large Cape Verdean population we have in our city. Actually, it’s even the reason the festival was named “Magia”! This year we felt the urge to dig into this connection a little deeper: 3 Cape Verdean acts you will rarely see live anywhere else: one of them is Danny Carvalho who is famous for his work with Cesaria Evora, Tito Paris and Paulinho Vieira, now performing (with a live band).

Light In The Attic Records recently released a compilation of songs from that era, “Even A Tree Can Shed Tears: Japanese Folk & Rock 1969-1973”, which featured one of her songs, “Anata Kara Toku E”.
